Well the ferrets have suddenly decided its fun to kick wood shavings out of the cage onto the floor and I cant clean up constantly - AND they are tearing up hammocks/beds so 2 questions - 1, they have never used a litter box, nor wanted to so would it be OK to buy some coroplast/polycarbonate sheeting make a litter box to fit the cage and add litter to that and use that - then have the rest fleece? Problem is I don't know how they will react to it, but I wanted a removable tray so its easy to clean (take it out and hose it off with some diluted bleach lol ) 2, I am totally going to give up on hammocks so would it be best to make a box (off the ground) and use shirts/trousers as bedding in there (they don't try to rip/eat them ) or just leave the clothes on the floor of the hutch for them? BTW, they are outside but are in an extension of the shed so out of wind/rain/draft etc.

Sorry I put it in the wrong place. No problem! Sometimes even I put stuff in the wrong spot, lol Luckily we can always move things to the best location And as far as your situation goes, I think adding the litterbox made from coroplast would be fine. And a den box (IMO) is a great idea and a much more natural resting area for a ferret then a hammock.

Never thought about that myself my dad might be able to get some free ply wood aswell so hopefully it should be done soon =]
