they loved it we have a community playground in our backyard, so along with grass and sidewalk, they got to play in some wood chips and the playground itself. Sammy fell down the little kiddie slide and I was surprised when at the bottom she started dooking and looking to do it again [JayJay HATES the slide ] It's a shame I only have two harnesses. One is some off-brand that the lady I adopted Mickey from gave me, and it's too huge for anyone other than JayJay [aka Fat Fuzz ] Everyone else needs to take turns . I've been meaning to get each of them their own for a while now, but when payday comes around I'm back to zero before I can blink. I'm glad the weather's starting to get cooler. Hopefully we can do this regularly.

I bet ferrets on the slide would be fun, haha, that's a cool idea. I'd be careful letting them dig around in woodchips, they're heavily chemically treated for playgrounds usually, and contain a lot of harmful resin on their own even without additional chemical treatment.

I'm glad that your little ones enjoyed themselves. My guys love it when the trap door is opened to their play area outside. Today they got to play in the rain and dig deep holes in the mud and bounce in the puddles. These pics were taken on another summer day when they were out playing. When you're out in a general play area, please be very careful about other people and their pets. I saw a little ferret and her owner get the scare of their lives at a show I was at. There were a whole group of ferrets doing the meet and greet thing and one lady's ferret was doing very well on leash. She was walking her around and allowing her to greet many of the dogs that were at the show. A couple of us had warned her that allowing her ferret to walk up to a dog was a really bad idea, but everyone thought it was really cute and well.....we all know what it's like . I was talking to a potential customer (I"m an artist) when I saw a couple come up with a JRT puppy....over trundles this cute little ferret. They did some nose sniffing, I saw the warning signs but I couldn't react fast enough, the ferret never had a chance (after all vermin is what these little dogs were hard wired to dispose of...there's very little difference between ferret and squirrel) I caught that little ferret on the way down, that's how far that little puppy threw her. I don't know if it was the lack of experience on the puppy, the ferret actually realized it was in trouble .... I don't know, but that little ferret survived that experience. She had a nasty gash on her shoulder but she survived. Her owner a little wiser...I hope. I'm sure you're very careful but I thought I should give a word of warning. Ferrets so love to play outdoors, to dig and do all sorts of ferrety things. It should always be a happy outing. Have fun, enjoy yourself, enjoy your furbabies ciao

yeah, i'm always really leery of dogs around my babies. by boyfriend is looking into getting a dog from the shelter we volunteer at and even though they have they FN cage i'm still afraid to have a dog near it. when we're not home I'd close their bedroom door, but I wouldn't want to have them shut off all of the time. that outdoor area you have is a FABULOUS idea. I'm not sure my landlord would like it too much though it will just have to be another one of those things on the list of "when I move I want to have ___"

i didn't know that. they didn't dig too much in it.. just kinda ran around. they did dig in the dirt on the side of the house though. I wouldn't worry too much about them running around in it, I just wouldn't let them stuff their faces in it or anything. My guy loves digging under the bushes and digging in pots outside, so I let him dig in a huge pot full of organic topsoil that I put in the middle of one of our garden beds that is currently empty. He digs all the dirt out, triumphantly curls up in the bottom of the pot...I scoop him out, refill the pot and he starts all over again, lol.
