Hiya!!

Just thought I should drop by an introduce myself! My name is Megan but everybody calls me M, I love animals and have lived around animals all my life, got my first pet when I was 5 and have never lived without animals since. I have been researching ferrets for over 8 years now and have kept them for 5-6 years and have loved every minute of it. I have 3 of my own, Teddy, Buffy and Gimdli, I take care of my brothers two, Lister and Rimmer (twins) and my mums 3 live in with my 3, Gromit, Bob-tail (he's got a docked tail : ) and Murphy - My Beautiful boy Sprokett (first fert) died just over a year ago (June 6th) and I still miss him today, the day he died I rescued a load of kits (2 weeks-6 weeks) and they all have lovely homes now, so I guess one door closed another opened . They all live outside in an extension of the shed next to the owl aviary (Did I mention we keep Birds Of Prey?) and have nice cosy hutches and pens for the summer. We are also slaves to 1 rabbit, 3 cats, 2 barn owls, 1 european eagle owl, 1 parrot, 4 guinea pigs and soon we are getting 2 hawks =D Enough babbling pics of my 3:

Nuh-uh, No way, not a chance! I even watch my brother like a hawk when he has her! I am protective over my fur kids like that besides if you don't lose a finger whilst feeding her raw meats then you can count yourself extremely lucky lol!

Its great to have you, and your babies are gorgeous! I LOVE Teddy, he looks huge! and the white spots on Buffy's tummy are too cute! Gimdli looks like my Samson, so of course I love him as well.

I hope you like the forum, lots of friendly people, and many familiar faces from ferret.com forum.

Could you tell us a little about the diet you feed your fuzzies?

The plan of my boys diets are:

Monday - quail>2 legs, breast fillet. rabbit>hind leg each
Tuesday - Mice>2 . Quail>Half leftovers each
wednesday - rabbit>half leftovers
Thursday - DOC>3-4 each no yoke, gizzard feet or beak
friday - monday plan
Saturday - jumbo rat>1 each
Sunday - Chicken meat and bones> 1 cup each

My little jill gets basically the same just taking away 10-20 grams from each meal (apart from the lesser energy/fat/protein food like DOC's)


ETA: Also every 3 days or so they get a tiny bit of cod liver oil.

Yeah. But they get what ever is killed for them . We have a friend with a lot of land and he kills a lot of game birds like moor hen, pheasant, duck, geese, quail, pigeon and he breeds his own little garden birds on his land so they get them as a treat.

Pretty much snap for me or if we have a friends ferrets to board the owner goes back with one extra rescue fert because "they just took to each other immediately"

The fuzzy crew are staying here, and to prove that they want to - my cousin left the door open on them, and we have patio doors on the back of the house, well they all (All 6!) ran down the garden to meet us in the lounge through the patio doors also glad I can help - PREYing that they take to the raw diet soon.
