well try another food unless hes losing a lot of weight i wouldnt be too worried, beast doesnt eat very much on normal occasions.
are they one inch squares strips or cubes. becuase depending on what size they are he might be getting more than you think from one sitting. Just keep feeding him try to add more variety he might be getting bored, i know kibble fed ferrets get bored with eating the same thing every day hahah so might raw fed ferrets just keep trying. he'll eat when he's hungry he already knows that meat is food if hes been eating it. hes not going to starve himself to death just to spite you if hes already been eating.

I do need to get him more variety, all he has been eating is chicken, chicken, chicken! Gah, I'm starting to get sick of it!
Hahh, I'll call my friend and ask her if her Hunter has any leftovers, Ha. Hopefullly the answer is yes, There's not much stuff here. He doesn't much like the pork, But I'll unfreeze some for friday, anyway. Just for the sake of a different meat.
We'll see how it goes.

its hurting swollen and bruised and i still havent touched my perscription >.< i had some given to me by a friend that i took but im never ever ever taking pain killers again i swear i have a perscription for vicodin and i havent touched the bottle i'm too stubborn you could call me a ferret hahah..

Awwh, Lol, Hahahh, Why won't you take the killers? I mean I don't believe in pills at all and I don't trust doctors, but I'd get all loopy with killers if I was in pain, Lol. ;3
I turned Stewart lame cage into a feeding box last night! Lol, So he stashes his meat in there instead of on the carpet. ;D
Well, I gave him a chicken leg (Chicken! Dx), It's pretty big so, he'll be eating that all day. He wasn't hungry this morning because I had left some bones in there at night, which had morsels of meat on them. So, I'm guessing in an hour or so, he'll start eating it, but an any rate at 4 I'm going to take the leg out and put it back in the fridge, and when I get home around 9 from Life Group I'll give it to him again.

Well, He won't eat the meat unless it's cut-up. Is this something he'll grow out of? Will he start tearing and ripping to get to the meat, in time? I think so.. But, I don't know. I mean, he does tear and rip, but only small peices. Also, He doesn't eat alot of bone, but he does eat the bone.
He's still eating the chicken leg. Maybe I should give him a wing. He used to eat those without me cutting them up.. And he also used to eat the legs when they weren't cut-up, Maybe those were smaller and this bone is too big? or tough?
Well, Everything else besides his eating, is going alright. His fur is thick and soft, his teeth are nice and clean and his ears too, I've been cleaning those out once [sometimes twice] a week. He's alot bigger too, and He's always doing happy dances and dooking, So I know he's healthy. I'm just not used to his eating habits on raw just yet, Hah ;3

dont spoil the poor monster hes trying to see how much you'll spoil him imo.. he'll eat bigger pieces. just stop babying him, when he gets hungry he'll eat. Yes i said stop babying him OH BLASPHEMY for the new ferret owner who doesnt know all their tricks. i used to have to cut beasts porkloins into chunks 1 1/2 inch cubes. now i just slice it into porkchops and throw it at him if he doesnt eat it bastien will or i'll take it out after an hour or so. haha eventually he got hungry and stopped turning his nose up at it. =) which made me happy haha.. Just dont baby him so much let him be like AHG mean mom lady is making me be awl growed up. because secretly no one wants to grow up no matter how grown up they try to act  |

I'm getting ready to go get a couple of those, So, does he need to be trained to use them? Or will he just carry his food in there pretty much every time? Iunno. Hahh, x3 Ohh, Gosh I'm so tired and looney, I just came home from babysitting all day, from 11am to 11pm. Yes lets all be 5 again when mommy kissed our scrapes and 5 dollars bought a lottttttt. K so most ferrets like eating n darker places, i have a tube in my cage that i built for the beasty boy and bastien without pause always drags chicken in there to eat it. some do some dont when i had a den in the ferret cage and put the food on a different level beast always drug it to the level with the den.

Ohkay, A Tube. Yeah, That keeps out some bacteria and stuff too, and also Bruce who desperatly wants to be fed Meat, Lol. x3 So, I'll get one of those dryer tube things, that should be good. And, get two black/dark plastic tubs, One for Stewart, one for his sister.
In the meantime, I'll just use his cage with a blanket draped over it, for darkness. He's actually starting to use his hidey hole, Hahh, Which is far away from the dresser where he usually stashed things. So, I dunno', When I get the feedign box, I'll just give him a peice of meat and find out where he takes it. Then put the feeding box there. x3
Today Mr. Colbert's getting a wing and some giblets. x3 He likes them giblets so he'll be happy with that. x3

Ooh yay =) sounds like a plan m'dear. I'm off to go lay in the sunshine and fry myself to a crisp.. i can finally walk on my ankle again.
Have you introduced anything other than chicken into Colberts diet? I think you need to start getting some variety into his diet, beef, pork, CGH, whole prey, commercial raw. ect ect. Start throwing some curve balls at him.
On another note. I cannot eat or make food in a messy kitchen and just spent the last 2 hours scrubbing my boyfriends kitchen because hes asleep and i was hungry. Now i'm still hungry but i'm waiting for the wax to dry on the kitchen linoleum so i can walk on it to make food. So Boys are pigs. I'm still hungry but the great news is =D YOU CAN EAT OFF MY KITCHEN FLOOR. Yeah buddy.. *neat freaks ftw.. or FTL depending on how hungry you are*
All i got to reccomend is add some variety to the diet of Colbert other than that you are doing Fabulous.

That's awesome! Yahh, It's a beautiful day over here, It's really looking like spring and I'm real excited, Hahh. :3 Well, There was the pork neck, and I still have ALOT of that, But I want to introduce alot of other things. I'm trying to get ahold of my hunter friend and see if I can get anything off of him, I may even gets some stuff off of his hunter friends too. So, soon he'll have alot of different furry little creatures to devour. ;3 I'll also need help switching him to that kind of whole prey, he might be freaked out by the fur. Lol, And.. uh, I just have to ask this nearly stupid question, If he's eating prey with the fur on, We'll he think of other animals as prey? ..Like in particular the cats? if it acts like prey it will be considered prey, rabbits mice rats hampsters. Cats are safe.
Ooh i am SO mad at brian. I made dinner, made angel food cake from SCRATCH cleaned the kitchen and the bathroom. he gets up and complains because i made the wrong thing for dinner.

Good luck with your hunter friend. =D and whole prey is easier if you start them with live so they can kill it then play tug of war with them with it like its a fun new toy so they get the idea that its food when they know its food switching them to frozen will be really really easy as easy as taking beast to the pet store picking up a large rat and by the time we got home he was IN the baggy it came in and the tail was gone.

And,If he doesn't well, Brucey boy gets a mousy treat! ..I just feel sorry for that poor mouse, Lol. x3 If he doesn't go at the mouse, It wouldn't be any different if I tried it again would it? Or.. Should I let Bruce kill it, then try to feed it to Stewart..Like.. Well, I reeeeaaallly hope he summons up his hunting skills because that would save alot of time, and alot of money on Rodentpro. Buut, I don't think he will unfortunatly.
