Hi my name is Denise and i live in Aberdeen Scotland, I have 14 ferrets and 2 polecats and have had ferrets for a few years. I run the North branch of the Scottish Ferret Club and in the summer we go to events doing ferret PR and ferret racing to raise funds for ferret welfare. I have always given my ferrets some raw foods 2-3 times aweek along with their kibble but now want to progress them to a whole raw food diet, I have been inreasing raw food over the past few weeks but want to know more esp about the values of the different types of meat to give them. The 2 polecats who are 12 weeks old won't touch kibble so are raw food only, these are polecats not polecat coloured ferrets. Looking forward to talking to you all

hi thanks Heather ( good scottish name !) my 2 polecats are pure polecats and are gorgeous, chocolate brown with a creamy muzzle. Will post pics but how do you do it ? I'm a bit of a cyberblonde !

Hi, and welcome to the forum! Please feel free to browse, ask questions, etc. Check out the diet section, it'll give you some good ideas as to good dietary balance.
To post pics here, you need something like a photobucket account. It's a free photo storage service. Upload your photo's there, then hover your cursor over the picture, til you get a drop down box. Click on the little square below on the left, then scroll down to "generate html, etc(sorry, don't remember what the rest says!)". Click on that, and on the next page that comes up, copy the appropriate code, and paste it into your reply box here.

Oh, I can't wait to see pictures of the little ones. We're not allowed to have "real" polecats over here (at least that's what I understand). We would love to see pics of your other little fuzzies too....I guess little isn't quite what you probably have. My understanding is that your ferrets over there are bigger than our little fuzzies. Do your guys get to hunt?
