Now that our budget is straightening out we're able to do what I've been wanting to do for awhile, switching from a Zupreem and 8 in 1 mix to Natural Gold and Evo mix. Pros/cons? Yes/no? Opinions please Also considered Superior Choice Original.

Sorry, it's been a while since mine have had kibbles. Have you considered raw/raw supplementing??

Hi! I used to feed mine Natural Gold and Evo, but switched them to commercial raw just a month after getting them. They are great kibbles as far as kibble goes because they are low in carbs, but they always gave my guys weird poops. They were always seedy and stinky! Commercial raw (freeze-dried and dehydrated) is better IMO, but just as easy to feed as kibble! I personally feed Ziwipeak, Wysong Archetype-1 (I had to take this out because Pandora barfs up anything with chicken in it : , Stella & Chewy's, and AFS. You can get all of these at the cheapest price that I have found (and someone who is on this forum!) from www.caseyshiddenpantry.com/I will say that once you start feeding raw, you'll want to go all the way! I am planning on switching mine to the ground raw from www.hare-today.com/Hope this helps!

I personally think Natural Gold is crap. If you read the ingredients you will see that it actually has Fructose in it! To me that is horrible and I wouldn't let my ferrets touch the stuff. Between the two, I would definately go with EVO.

I feed EVO ferret and Orijen cat. I think as far as kibble goes, it is a good mix for me. I am not familiar with Natural Gold. I am trying to go to more of a commercial raw diet, but the ferrets don't seemed impressed with Wysong Archetype I, but they seem to like the Ziwi Peak.

I feed Evo to both my cats and ferrets (although I am also trying to switch them all to raw). It has worked very well - one of my cats was borderline diabetic, but since switching her over, her blood glucose levels have stabilized. Also, when I had a ferret who was allergic to chicken, I fed them Evo Red Small bites, which is a red-meat variety of Evo.

I fed evo ferret to my guys and they were all quite loose on it. Most other owners I've talked to have said the same thing. I don't know if it's too rich or what, but I really wasn't happy with their stool.

With the Evo, it's because the protein level is much higher. Actually closer to what mine have on a raw diet. When the stools get too loose, I just give either more bone, whole prey, or a bit of pumpkin for the fiber content.
