I am new to this site...found it from the Ferret Forum, and thought I would try it out! I am a current ferret owner, and have owned ferrets since last September when I started out with one ferret. 9 months later, I am up to ferret number 7, and would like to eventually add one more to my gang. My first two ferrets came from the pet store, and my last 5 were rescues from my community...people either effected by the economy or something else who couldn't take care of their fuzzies any more. I am also a mother of 4...(yes, 4) children all under the age of 7. My youngest is only 3 months old, so typo's in any message, or sentences that don't make any sence is probably due to me holding and feeding a screaming baby!  I apologize well in advance! I look forward to meeting new people, embracing new ideas, and generally talking about everyone's favorite obsession: FERRETS! One last note: I am the only person left on the planet without a digital camera, so it is going to take me a while to post pictures. I have to do everything the old fasioned way! I have also run out of holidays to recieve a camera as a gift. I got a ferret for Mother's Day, a ferret and ferret nation cage for our anniversary, and a ferret as a pre-birthday gift. It may take me a while to convince my husband to get a digital camera....and my final fuzzie too! |

Wow! and I thought I was busy!  Its great to have you here! Good luck with getting a digital camera lol. Me thinks it will take you a while  I love your fuzzie's names I hope you find what you are looking for here on HF. Any questions you have we are here to help. Welcome neighbor!! I have a 17 month old son and two daughters ages 8 and 6. I'm glad to see families with younger children owning ferts. I just hope some shelters will lift their age requirements for families soon!

I just hope some shelters will lift their age requirements for families soon! Me too. You wouldn't believe how many ads I see for ferrets needing new homes because of kids or baby on the way. I got my first two when I was pregnant with my last (and final) baby. One of my ferrets, Riven, came to us for that reason. They had a 23 month old, and couldn't care for the ferret any longer. Two others of mine came from another family with 4 children, but they were losing there home (husband works in reality, not good times) I am just glad they have a good home too. Moving around from place to place must be hard. At least, I think so. I hate moving! |

Welcome It appears that you've already been attacked by the infamous fertmath problem There always seems to be new furbabies who need homes. It's great that you can provide homes for these lost souls. I have presently in house 14 little lost souls. I just took in 2 about a month ago, Babushka 9yrs and Pooka 6 yrs. I have been busy convincing these little ones that a raw diet is truly good fuzzbutt dining. ciao |

Welcome! I recognize you! I expanded from 2-7 in 8 months as well! Although I do not have skin kids, just fur kids....7 ferts, 3 big dogs & a cat. =)

I think two forums and a local shelters forum is just about my limit though. Hard to keep up with what is going on in each of them. I have you beat by just a little bit. I have 7 ferrets, 5 cats, 4 kids and a husband. Ok, ok. I have 5 kids!! |

well i no longer feel all that busy, i just have 2 kids (6 and almost 5), 3 dogs, a cat, and the 9 fuzzies soon to be 10 again. Feel free to ask any questions you have we will all try to answer them as soon and as well as we can
