Hello Everyone, I'm Tako (the second time around, hehe).
A quick explanation of my name, since I'm sure the question will come up (though if you eat sushi, or read my explanation in the "Names behind the ID's" thread you might already know!) tako means octopus in Japanese. I'm a former Japanese language and culture major, turned Graphic Design major (at University of Georgia for any wondering) who has always had a fascination with the marine world, octopi especially, so it's been my handle online for a few years now. TakoInk is even the name of my online arts, crafts, and design business.
I currently do not have any ferrets. A recent major mishap with adoption paperwork through a local Petland (story detailed in steps in the odd and ends section of the forum) lead to me to believe I was so close to having a big beautiful fuzzy boy of my own that I picked up a cage off of craigslist, the food he was currently on in order to help in the switch to a better food and eventually a raw diet, everything, only to find out a few days later that something went wrong in the process and the gorgeous silver boy I had gone so far as to name Mithrandir would not be coming home to me after all. In fact he had been adopted right out from under me. Now I'm watching and waiting and hoping for another opportunity to arise (one might already have in my own town in fact, but only time will tell as I am waiting for them to email me back).
Having been a California resident up until 2 years ago, owning ferrets has been a very long term dream for me (I've wanted them since I was 7 or so). Upon moving to Georgia I was faced with having to wait through a year in dorms and a no-pets apartment. Now I'm finally in a house, albeit with my boyfriend's mother as well as my boyfriend (we're sharing rent to save money), and have two lovely dogs I have come to see as my own, as well as our goofy white cat. I'm no longer animal-less, just woozle-less.
So, long explanation aside here, basically I'm re-introducing myself to all the new faces that have shown up in my absence, letting everyone know collectively where I stand now woozle-wise, etc. I'm planning to be around a lot more in the near future owing to the fact that a ferret is not such a "distant dream" any longer.
