My name is Liz and I have been with a ferret shelter for 8 years. I currently have 20 ferrets.
I switched my 3 large dogs to a raw diet 2 years ago and would really like to do the same with the ferrets.
But, as you can see, if gets to be more of a challenge with so many ferrets and ages ranging from 1 yr to 8 yrs.
I do have 3 of my younger ones that eat a plate of chicken giblet tidbits every day. And one of my yearlings actually catches a mouse on her own every now and then.
I have ordered frozen mice, day old chicks, quail & rabbit. But, getting caught up in the daily flurry of my days, I have not taken advantage of those 'gems in the freezer'.
It is time for me to finally get on the raw bandwagon because I know it is far better for them. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Liz

Hi Liz and welcome to the forum 20 fuzzbutts and I thought I was bad with 17 I have a private rescue/hospice all the furbabies that come into my place are switched to a totally raw/prey diet. I no longer try and place and limit my numbers to 18 (I feel that's what I can comfortably handle). Please feel free to prowl the list, check out the various sections and read through the threads. If you have any questions, ask away, everyone here is friendly and very helpful. You may find the nutritional section of particular interest. Might I suggest applying for a mentor to help you to switch all your furbabies. Check out some of the threads there and see if you would like to go that route. Anyway, welcome on board, I hope I will be seeing you around ciao
