We found out yesterday that Michaels mom does not want us feeding raw in the house (it's a LONG story) but we did come to a compermise though.... We moved the babies to the basement and have to set up schedule feed times but she is fine with feeding raw this way. Funny enough she doesn't have a problem with whole prey feedings just the raw in the house. Last night since we were having problems with the wet/kibble we slit a mouse up the middle and left it in the cage. When we went back 20 min later the head to the middle of the body were gone and when we went back 20 min later again the rest of the mouse was gone. Before we moved the babies I got some kibble just in case we had to feed that until we moved. I thought for sure Taz, who was kibble fed for 1 1/2 years before we got her would eat it. I wasn't sure about the the other 4. All of the fuzz butts have been on a raw diet for 8 months now with no cooked meat or wet/kibble. Here is what happened when I put two different types of canned wet (95% meat) and dry kibble in with them..... www.onetruemedia.com/shared?p=93ac96a954f8678b9f2600&skin_id=1702&utm_source=otm&utm_medium=text_url

Oh that was just heart breaking! They don't even know it's food anymore. I didn't watch the entire thing. Did any of them eat any of it?

That one is SO much better! I'll bet there were lots of hissings and tug 'o wars over THAT dish

The only one who hissed was Taz but Falkor only tried to take it from her! Which is pretty funny considering when we got Taz she was the hardest to switch to raw! Now she doesn't even realize that kibble can be eaten. She does think it's great for digging though

That's almost exactly what happened when I tried to give Ozzy kibble... It was more just to see if he would take it though. Now whenever someone asks me why I don't feed kibble, I can just tell them that my babies won't eat it. Even Mogli doesn't even seem to like kibble anymore.
Lucky for me, I can make sure that all of my pets are raw fed from now on. My dad and I are thinking about getting a dog which would be fed raw only. Of course, we have to fix the fence and figure out a decent schedule first... It's very nice to have family members who actually support raw feeding.

I am going to try and get the kids to accept a wet food in case something happens and they can't have raw... I am not going to put them (or me) through that nightmare again!

You might try some freeze dried foods to see if you can teach them to eat those. I know that there are a lot on board who use that as the emergency alternative ciao

I got the Primal Chicken and Salmon frozen raw formula. I tried this one first for two reasons. The fuzz's went to chicken first when we switched and have had chicken as a staple in their raw diet. Salmon is something we give a couple times a month and they adore it! It also was the cheapest one to get. I didn't want to spend $25 on 4lbs of food they would not eat.
All of the fuzz's lapped it up. I put 5 oz in and they ate 4 of those oz's. Bandit is missing his momma (who is visiting with her dad for summer visitation) so we have been hand feeding/feeding him seperately from the rest of the crew to make sure he eats enough.
Since I now know they will eat it I will go and get the other formula's. I am going to get the Venison, Quail, and Pheasant. I am also thinking of checking out the NV line to add lamb and rabbit.
Today they (5 ferrets) ate 8 oz's.... sound about right? They also had giblets.
