Can you give ferrets too much bone? Hare Today is actually in PA where I live, so shipping won't cost too much from them. I can order 3-4 weeks worth of raw meat for the ferrets for around $44.00 including shipping. But a lot of their meats that would add variety to my furbabies' diets have the bones ground in. Is it okay to give meat w/ bones more than 4x a week or will it mess up the ratios of things?

Too much bone can be as bad as not enough - calcium can build up in kidneys and cause issues - but a whole ground rabbit or pheasant would have the proper ratio of bone/ muscle meat/ organ. Whole prey is the 'perfect little package' with the proper balance already in it! And even whole ground prey includes that.

One of the mentors on here gives premade raw daily, with whole meats/meaty bones in the evening. So I'm thinking it should be safe. I believe most premade is only 10% bone, or there abouts.
