I was wondering if i could feed my dog a simular diet as mocha and moo-shake. He already eats cooked meat off my plate, but refuses dog food. i have been trying to get a rodent callony going and was wondering if my dog could eat mice or rats as well?

Why not, wolves, coyotes supplement their diet with mice, voles, and moles. How big is your dog? My guy has eaten a couple of mice but I think it's more by accident. It was funny to watch the cat, the ferrets and a great big lumbering wolfhound puppy trying to catch this poor mouse. The thing ran right into the pups mouth and he was toast. Mithrandir ate him without a second thought. A lot of the smaller dogs are ratters and vermin hunters so why not. You would have to feed a lot more than just mice or rats though. ciao

my dog -fuggie, is an 8lb shittzu mix. What else would he need to eat if i was to switch him to a natural diet? i would eventully want to try to give him rodents, just like i want to with my ferrets.

I would also give him what ever meats .... frankenprey. I suppose you could get by with feeding him just rodents...why not I would think that you would have to feed well.....it's about 2 to 2.5 % of their desired weight...so you need to feed about 1 lbs of mice, rats or whatever (if I calculated this right). You may want to occasionally feed some veggies....I usually just use some frozen left over salad...I don't feed on any schedule so, maybe once or twice a week. ciao
