i lost my baby ferret oreo, on june 21,2009. She was a wonderful baby ferret my finance had gotten me for christmas. She was full of energy and spunk. My last memory is of the day before i went to the hospital , she was out playing and tried to get the fan to chase her.
i feel like her death is my fault. I know if i had been home i could of rescued her. She died the day i got out of the hospital, most likely on our way home. i found her stuck 2/3 up sticking partway out of the cage, dead.
i had to have my finance break the cage in order to free her. her sisters-Mooshake and mocha are fine, but do miss her. i miss oreo very much, she wasn't just a ferret, she was my baby.

I am so very sorry for your loss! Oreo knew how much she meant to you, and she will be waiting for you at the bridge. You will be in my thoughts.

I"m so sorry for your loss of Oreo...what a tragic accident. There are so many cages/habitats that are created but are not properly thought out and these type of accidents occur. I have a cage that I've had a couple of ferrets figured that the gaps in the cage was large enough for the tiny females to weasel out. Oreo is now roaming cage free and bouncing and dooking and probably playing with my Attila.....I'm sure he would care very much for her He always has a special place for his little girls. I will light a candle for your little one, to guide her on her next great adventure. Goodbye, little Oreo, you will be so missed. ciao

What a tragedy! I'm so sorry for the loss of your Oreo. And no- it is most definitely NOT your fault. Could you have saved her if you were home? Maybe. But regardless, no matter how much we love these little ones, we do have to leave the house sometimes. And unfortunately, accidents do happen. {{{{{hugs}}}}}.
