Okay everyone! I need some help here. I found where I can get frozen rabbit again, and I got one. Only problem is it's intact. How do I skin and gut a rabbit? Not the first clue

Why do you want to skin it? you can feed whole, the fur is great for their digestive system. But, if you really have to then use a meat cleaver to cut off the head and pull the skin downwards - dont cut it! it will pop off like a jumper as rabbits skin is easily degloved, pull all the way down the body then make a cut all the way up the belly and turn the rabbit up flat and empty the guts into a bag. Done. We always feed rabbits with skin/fur and guts. If we need to quarter them then we use a hack saw and saw them up into portions whilst frozen - guts and all.

Thanks for the info! Harrisi, I have to skin it because hubby is extremely squeamish when it comes to whole prey . He even has such a problem with the idea of feeding the frozen mice that I have to do it after he goes to bed

That tough looking tatooed guy? LMAO!
My guy used to raise and butcher rabbits, (and hopefully we will be again soon!) he says to cut off the head and around the legs and the skin will come away as easily as peeling a grape. Basically just like harrisi said.

I feed my rabbits fur and all....I just remove the stomach and intestines (very smelly), like harrisi stated. My guys love them, fur and all...the heads are a special prize. It usually results in lots of squabbling and stealing. The rabbit does more travelling as dinner than it probably did when it was alive . ciao
