Drake had surgery yesterday to remove the tumour on his tail. So of course I had him in a recovery cage.
I didn't lock it like I usually do and Drake got out. My bunny Snowball lives down stairs and Drake got ahold of him. My dad found Snowball this morning and sadly he didn't make it. I don't blame Drake, only myself
But Snowball was old, almost 9 years old, and he had cancer. Possibly other things as he was starting to loose a lot of weight.
My question is, how likely is this to make Drake sick? He seems fine, and I don't no how much of Snowball he ate, but is there a chance that this will hurt him? I don't no if I should start him on antibiotics or not...I'm not thinking to clearly right now and I'm still devastated.

Cancer is non transferrable. The cancer that was a part of Snowball, was only his. Wolves hunt the sick and dying...so do our little furbabies. It makes them strong and makes their prey stronger by weeding out the weak. I'm very sorry for your furbunny. Antibiotics wouldn't help Drake if the disease was transferrable but cancer is not. Drake is safe and did only what he was created to do. I will light a candle for your furbunny, Snowball...he was after all a special friend and friends always get special treatment to the bridge. Run swift little bunny, there is plenty of sweet green grass where you run now. No pain, no fear...just gentle breezes, green grass and cool water. ciao

Thank you Heather. I was just so worried that not only Snowball passing away, but Drake would get sick because of this accident. Thank you for the end of your post as well. Made me tear up once again...It meant a lot to me

Oh! I'm so sorry this happened. I can only imagine. I had two bunnies once. I came home and my akita had got to them. But he was just chasing one when I found them all. I didnt see the other rabbit. I had him stop chasing one (amazingly good dog) and the other was hiding in a shed underneath a bunch of junk. Lucky bunnies.
I'm sorry this happened.
