I work overnight, and was scheduled to work tonight, but I HAD to call in because right when I walked out the door to go to work, it started storming.................REALLY bad!

There is so much lightning in the sky it looks like its daytime! and its pouring rain and hail is coming down every 30 minutes or so. The winds are gusting and I keep getting power surges. I only live 10 minutes from work, but I didnt even feel safe driving in!

OMG I am soooooo jittery right now. Normally I dont freak out during storms, but its pretty bad. I also feel this weird, subconcious panic inside. This must be how dogs feel when they feel a bad storm rolling in and they get scared. Its very strange, and very unsettling.

I get scared when we have storms, because we have lotsa trees.

But, In Febuary we had Bad power outages... Our power was out about three days (And can you imagen.. We had a freezer FULL of meat with no electricity). Some people were without power for a week. And it was FREEZING cold out, so we were all freezing to death.. When we decided to go stay at a motel the power came back on but it had lenghty spurts of nothing. The next day when we thought it was fine the power went off every five minutes and stay off for four. We were having tons of fires in the mountains, all caused by people but what made it worse was the FIFTY TO EIGHTY MILE WINDS! And we could see the major fire from our windows. It came really close to our friends house.

One of them burned 2,700 acres of national forest and 4,000 acres total.

It was some scary, scary stuff. For awhile when you'd go outside you'd be breathing in a wall of smoke.
