Hello next month is my ferret gracies 2nd birthday! (shes grown up! ) any way im having her a birthday party! as i did last year. but last years cake was a disaster.........it was disgusting. she and her ferret friend took two licks and moved on to the games. So i was wondering if you guys had any ideas on making a birthday cake! i searched online but i havent found much....... i have a dog bakery that makes home made doggy cakes so i may call there to see what ingredients they use to make sure they use no corn but they probably do....... so any ideas? **im not a raw feeder yet*** i still feed kibble.

If you're looking for something truly "cake-like" as in baked goods with sweet frosting... I'd say forget it. It could be dangerous for them... especially if it contains sugar. Provide some kind of treat that you already know they like... (and that you know is healthy for them... or at least not terribly unhealthy) and call it a day. Ferrets don't care about a birthday cake and since they are pretty finicky in general, anything new is not likely to be well received.
Sorry to be a party pooper, that's just my take on it. Maybe someone else will have a better suggestion.

How about some of their favourite kibbles and treats all mixed up, and drizzled with some 'tone?

I like sherrylynne's idea....if they're all kibble ferts then some tasty kibbles and some ferretone and have a good one. You could try some dried liver treats or little freeze dried fish but ferrets aren't big for trying something new. I would personally save the price of a cake and frustration and go for something everyone recognises as food. JMO of course For my guys all I have to do is put them in the bathtub and add mice....happy birthday ciao
