OK, I think I have my #5.
#5) My purple folder of health records for the ferrets. Everything in one neat and tidy place for easy reference. For example, while we were brushing Sam-I-Am's teeth this weekend, my husband asked, "How long was Sammi at the shelter?" So I went over to the purple folder and looked - he was dropped off in Feb 2007. All the health records, plus a health chart for each ferret, in a section marked with each ferret's name. Easy access for us - and easy access for ferret sitters in case of emergency.

Yes, an organized file of health records is ESSENTIAL. I used to do that when I had my larger business, and I have all of the fert's in my current business's records, they just arent filed yet. Need to get on that, thanks for the reminder, jojodancer.

Im with Giuli on her number one and five. other then that i would have to say boxes of all sizes and shapes as well as their squeaky toy that makes them all come running. I would reccomend to everyone to train your ferrets to come to a certain sound. Oh and also my excel file on my computer of their medical history ( everything to the shape they were in when we got them to all their vet visits and why they were there.)

My cant do withouts... 1. Our Camping Run. We attend outdoor shows and camping weekends throughout the summer and while the gang does fine in show cages etc.. we really wanted them to have a bit more room. its secure and i can hang hammy's or put in flexitube etc... 2. Cod liver oil/ferretone we mix 1/2 and 1/2 which makes it much cheaper for us ... i just bought a 16 ounch bottle yesterday on sale for £7.50 .. works out to about $15.00 US lol... not cheap but weasel crack is definitely a great distraction when trying to clean out newborns and mums not happy lol 3. pillow cases.. who can live without the best hammy ever invented.. inside when they want to hide and on top when its warm... lovely 4.Mistral anti bacterial Cleaner.. a concentrate cleaner here in the UK.. easily diluted and cheap..lovely for quick jobs and weekly heavy clean outs. 5. Rabbit... the ferrets would never forgive me if i forgot their favorite food lol all the best ~lorelei~

we built it.. and it goes together with nuts and bolts so we can take it apart and transport it in the car.. it also has a plexiglas middle divider we can put in so that Sage can be in one side and the girls on the other ..

If you have the time (which I am sure you probably don't, with 21 kits in the house lol!) I would LOVE it if you could post directions for how to make that run in the "enrichment" section. If you are busy or dont have the time, I totally understand.
I would LOVE to take my ferts camping and that looks like the perfect enclosure to keep them safe and sound.

sure ! no problem .. i'll get it together later this evening and post the instructions.
as for being too busy .. not quite yet.. i do the cage change in the morning (they are confined to the nesting cage while the babies are too young to be out.. otherwise they try to take the babies out of the nest and stash em under the couch LOL
..poke and prod at each little bundle of squirmy arms and legs LOL.. give each mum a stroke and snuggle and add 1/4 rabbit and some offal ( cant forget taurine!!!)
and thats me done until they get to be about 4-5 weeks old and much doesn't snatch em outta my hands when i pick them up lol.
we do find the run ideal for camping.. ours love being out on a lead but sometimes there are things that have to be done and i dont want to keep them cooped up in the show cages. Regular ferret playpens are useless with my lot and i'd never feel secure enough to take my eye off them fora second!
its also handy at shows.. as you're probably aware a group of ferrets in a small show type cage will climb into the hammy and go to sleep! with the bigger run.. a group of ferrets can play and goof off and show people what ferrets actually DO lol its the centerpiece in my demos and PR talks!
oh yeah.. how do i get my signature added at the bottom? i added it as an img tag on my profile but it doesn't show up?
thanks Heather
