Sounds like a plan, I will check in with you tomorrow and see how it went. Don't let him get too hungry, but being hungry when you try to feed him will help him progress faster and convince him that what you're offering him is indeed food. I will check in later to see if you've managed to get him to eat his supper. ciao ok since we still don;t have baby food, yesterday i fed him carnivore care with RAW chicken, he ate lil bit of it. TOday, we are going to get chicken baby food, cause were going to blockbuster and next to blockbuster is publix, so BINGO! i will feed him RAw chicken with soup, it'll just be late, thats all. ;D

I"ve found with my guys that carnivore care is an aquired taste Darned expensive, aquired taste I usually use a jar of baby food and 1 tbsp of carnivore care...I find that my guys are a little more receptive to that Little bums I will be interested to see if Duke is more inclined to eat his raw dinner once the soupy is something he's familiar with. They can be so difficult about trying something different. I find it's so difficult sometimes to not get into the habit of feeding the same things over and over again. It's just easier. We will get Duke eating his raw meats again. You'll see I will check in with you again and see if you managed to get him to eat a bit more. ciao

Do let me know how it goes I use gerber's meat only mix for my baby food mix. I'm glad that he ate his chicken all up. Congratulations, you've found his mix I will be interested to see how he does with his whole meats. Now that you have his baby food, perhaps another meat like pork or turkey might be the next thing to try. I would keep him on the chicken for a few days as he gets comfortable with eating it consistently. Good luck, you both are doing awesome ciao

When you first start it can be very difficult, which is one of the reasons for the mentoring thing. I've got a little girl who was turned in just before Christmas. Her big burly boy friend (who was also turned in with her) is very much tummy driven, eating is something he does well. He switched without much trouble, Calypso....well she's not eating kibble anymore and hasn't been for a couple of months now but she won't eat on her own either. She's just now starting to show continued enthusiasm about her dinner but she wants me to get her started. I start her with a spoon then she gets right into the bowl and eats well. I sit there and do soduku or read a book with her sitting on my lap eating her food. She could do this quite comfortably from the floor but she'd rather have someone snuggle her while she eats. The same rescue, ferts are from the same household but totally different in how they look at things. Calypso is a tiny little thing, she weighs just an oz over a pound. She suffered terrible shelter shock and missed her people very badly, Capt Jack was over it within the month (once he realized where his food was coming from). So you see, what one ferret will do another will not. Your Duke is doing well, he's just not sure about what that new food is all about. Kibble because of the carbs is very addictive for a ferret. Have you ever tried to give up carbs...all of the main ones...no breads, grains, starches. The cravings for that stuff is horrible...so if this is the case with your Duke and other ferrets who are on kibble it's not a wonder that we have so much difficulty switching them to real foods. I will check in later to see how your feeding went. ciao

I'm really sorry. I'm ok with this. Do you want me to contact Giuli and she can file your information in the holding file until you can come back. I will explain that you're really sick and you're having family problems. Keep all the information in a journal of what you do with Duke (or place your raw feeding in a holding pattern until you can make your commitment again.) You don't really need the added stress of switching your furbaby too. It's entirely up to you. Let me know what you want to do. Pm me if you like, but I will check in with you later Good luck, get better. ciao
