I was wondering if anyone knew why ferrets like ferretone so much. My little girl was not introduced to ferretone until I got my two boys and they love the stuff. I was wondering if anyone knew which ingredient they like. I was looking at the nutrients and it has cod liver oil. And we have just pure cod oil where I work. Do you think that they would like this. I am just trying to get them off as much junk as I can. Any info would be appreciated thanks.

I try to give as little ferretone as possible, mainly because of the BHT in it. It's a known cancer-causing agent. I use a dab every couple of weeks for nails, but that's it(if they went as crazy for salmon oil, I'd use it instead). I have no idea what it is they like about it though.
I'd also stay away from cod liver oil. Too high in the vit. A department. Try for a whole body fish oil, it's much healthier. Or emu oil. I've not used it, but I understand it's really good, most ferrets like it.
