Nope dont taste like chicken [/quote] That is just too funny! We had a little guy who used to like to pry open our lips with his nose to check out what we were eating and steal a taste. I have noticed my ferrets giving off the corn chip smell when they're sleeping but must admit I haven't smelled any tales...yet

You know, the funny thing is, a few mornings ago my son (who is 7) came up to me to tell me one of our ferrets smelled like "purple berry" which is grape in his little world. I laughed, and shrugged it off. Later on that day, I was on the ferret.com forum and someone mentioned it. Lo and behold, my son was right. And as crazy as it sounds, they do smell like grape soda. Not an unpleasant smell. I suppose it could have been worse!

Of course I've been sniffing my ferrets more and more lately and I've noticed that Roman DEFINITELY has a grape soda smell, but the others either don't or it is very faint. I wonder if the smell is related to their diet? Or gender? Bugsy has a faint smell, but none of the girls smel like that anymore, and they used to.
It will be interesting to keep sniffing the boys as time progresses to see if the odor minimizes or stays the same.
As for "ferret huffing" - I'll leave that to the more experienced. Cheers, Kim
