 The first day of sping, the sun shines brightly but you could not feel it. This morning brought no light, no pain, just a vague feeling of waiting, of floating. A soft voice, long ago silenced sounds in your mind. Old memories dance in your head, a happy little furface and then it's gone. For a moment you feel a soft spring breeze, you feel warmth and then darkness decends and you once again feel nothing. Gradually you waken, you are in the warm, furry embrace of a furbrother, his chuckling laugh infectious...he bounds away with his usual vigor and strength. You sigh, you've not been able to do this the last few weeks. Once again he runs at you this time bowling you over, you hiss and give chase. You stop, confused.....he chuckles and gator rolls you down the soft grassy hill. You romp and play through the dappled light, and into sunshine. No pain, no deep pain ripping at you, just sweet smells, soft grasses and gentle breezes that promise that spring here is forever. You curl up with Athos, his smell familiar to you but long forgotten until now. You listen and remember and close your eyes to sleep knowing that there is no fear, no hunger, no pain. Here you will wait with your furbrother Athos and other furbabies too, until that time when old friends once again meet. Goodbye sweet friend, once again you're whole and pain is but a faraway memory. A candle is lit to mark your journey and will be lit again on your special day for now until the time when we once again will play towel games together.   |

I'm sorry for your loss, Heather. I'll light a healing candle for you and your fuzzy ones, as I'm sure they are missing little Aremis. May your pain now just be stretch marks to make room for the love of more little ones.
