You're going to need to clean not only the animals themselves, but vacuum thoroughly all upholstery and carpeting, and wash all bedding in warm water. This way any eggs that have been shed will be removed too!

Sprinkle baking soda on your carpets and upholstery a few days before vacuuming (suggested in a different thread). This will help kill fleas and dry up the eggs just don't empty your vacuum cleaner in the house. Out of curiosity - why does everything have to be washed in WARM water? Won't the fleas drown in the soapy cold water? And then when everything's run through the dryer, won't that help kill any fleas that may have survived the wash cycle?

I don't use a dryer to dry my ferrets stuff, so I use the hottest water the bedding can take to make sure everything is as clean as possible - hot water, gross as it sounds, slightly "cooks" things - they aren't coming back then LOL

Oh, ok. Is there a reason you don't use a dryer on you ferret stuff?
