What do you mean she's not eating anything?? How long has this been going on? She is eating kibble or something right? Your little one won't go long without some type of food. She needs to eat a minimum of 3 oz of food daily and should be eating every couple of hours. She's either very sick or is going to be very soon (unless I've misunderstood your message). Please get back to me ciao

I'm sorry. You read wrong. Everyone has kibble, and she eats it. She is just being a weasel in switching. She doesn't like anything as of yet, but I keep trying. Lee and Monster are in the stage of eating it, but not liking the idea. If anyone ever stopped eating, They would be going to vet pronto. I don't take chances with ferrets not eating. Today I made some mashed up chicken, egg white, and a bit of chicken baby food. I made everyone try some. The little one is STILL being an evil ferret. I actually found out something today about the little one. Out of ALL my ferrets, She is the only one that is a true ferret at stealing things. I popped over the board into the ferret room and found her stealing my socks, toys, my feet... I also named her Pixie as in those naughty pixie faeries. Monster's hair loss is turning out to be more of a very late shed. Maybe since he's been on pepto, It has made him feel better. Is it normal for a ferret to be very laid back when it comes to going places? I took monster to the santa parade and picture event at our town. He was dressed up in a santa hat, red scarf thing, and a sweater made from a red fuzzy sock. The scarf is more since he doesn't have a thick coat and it was in the low 30's. We had atleast 50 people come up asking questions. I told them about food choices, whole prey, meat, and about this website. Kids were petting him, and just feeling all over him. He layed in my arms ether haft asleep, or just looking around. A blind kid even got his first feel, and wiff of a ferret. I felt so proud of him. Santa let us take a picture of him with him! I will have to upload the photo when I get it, but I do have two to post. My nephew, me, and monster. This is my sister, her boyfreind, and monster with santa. I don't have the one by himself yet. This is my obento for tomorows lunch. Obentos are japanese styles lunchs. I love to create them. One of these days I will make one with a ferret shape!

Awesome photos My Napoleon does what your Monster does. At first I was concerned about his reactions but I think that he just loves doing the meet and greet. I'm going to guess that he just loves all the people and the activity because he really seems to enjoy himself. If he thinks things are getting boring he just goes to sleep. My vet can't get over how comfortable my guys are with being handled and snuggled (but then she's never met Fun-Go : Thank you for putting my mind to rest. I'm glad to hear that your little one is eating kibbles too I had another student who decided to switch her guys by tough love and just stopped feeding them, so I'm a little nervous when someone says their furbaby isn't eating their soupy, or raw food. Could you show me how you made Monster's sweater? or post a pic of Monster's sweater with a bit of a description? My little Pooka is adrenal and she's quite naked (except for her head, shoulders and tail .... got to wonder about the tail thing but she has fur on it ) She has some tufts of hair here and there but for the most part, she just has a lot of pink skin. I'm always worried that she's cold. Ciao

The sock is realy simple. All it is is a short sock with the opening to it smaller sized. The sock i had is stretchy at the neck. I cut the toes off around mid body , and than made a large hole for his legs. It kind of looks like thoes full body harness's.
We have progress!!!! The food i made was a hit. Lee, Monster, and Jack both ate it, includding the meat off my fingers. Ripply ate a few peices of meat. Dakota licked at my fingers. AND Pixie acualy licked some off of my fingers.

Awesome Great job. What did you do? Give your little ones a great big hug from me and give yourself a big pat on the back. Thanks for the sock instructions. I will have to see if I can work something out for Pooka. ciao

Hope the sock works. Monster is turning REALY dark so he was indeed shedding. I am giving him extra oils, and last night they ate a almost full grown mouse. Hopefully he will get a pretty coat like ripply. Also, I have this random black mouse now. I have been breeding these mice for a while. Albino females and one brown females to a brown male. And i randomly get this solid black, short tailed, tiny black baby. Strange genetics. Meat wize. I did not feed them meat last night because I got home late, and i have exams to study for. So i just offed the mousie and that was their entertainment. They did get out of their cage from1:10-7:00pm

I am officialy going cold turkey on soup. I had no luck with soup. They would much rather just lick the soup than the meat. I tried the meal last night even with the crunch on time. It was just chicken chopped into a mush with one large egg white. They licked it off my fingers, ate a few bits, and than pulled their blanket over the plate and slept in it. Pixie is a water gall. She was soaked, + the cage was soaked last night when she decided to play in the water. I know Dakota also loves the water. She snorkled in the tub and scared the S$%#t out of me because she was so tinny, and the water was a little high. All i saw was her go under the water and swim around. I realy don't want to off this black mouse. He is rather cute. Can a mouse freeze in 20 degree just coldness?? My sister is worried that he would die on the boat where she lives. It does get pretty cold on the boat.

Update: I started college back up, and before that I ran into some money issues so i never got a chance to let you guys know whats been happening.
They are eating full grown mice. Monster, Leelloo, and Jack atleast. Ripply eats little bits, Pix trys to eat it, and Dakota is still anti-mouse.
I got a blender and blended up a couple peices of chicken. They ate it, and even dragged out some of the bigger peices.

I was wondering where you had got to . So you're back in school. Things are working out ok?? Sounds like you're making some serious progress in the feeding dpt. Great news. Have you thought of maybe trying your guys on just whole meats with bones? They might take to that more than the soupy. Is Dakota eating the soupy? Please keep me posted ciao

Dakota is not eating soup. She does not even show interest and would rather sleep, or eat kibble. I realy don't want to force her into anything because she is so small, and I don't know her true age.
I may try the meaty bones, but when i tried it before it did not go too well. They refused to eat it.
I will try it with maybe a wing. What is the best way to introduce a wing?

If you can get Dakota eating even soupy, she might develop a new lease on life. Babushka was very similar to this. I finally made my soupy thicker (more like porridge than soup) and force fed her (scruff and stuff)...she gave me horrible grief about it. I don't know how many times at 3 am I would wonder why I was doing this. Then all of a sudden she started eating it, after that she never looked back and then all of a sudden I had a ferret who was interested in life again. She did absolutely awesome for about another 18 months or more then she went into total organ failure. She died at about 11 yrs of age. I'm certain that if I hadn't forced her to eat raw that she would have died within months of being turned in. She was just waiting. I like to think that I gave her a gift, an extension to her life allowing her to roam and enjoy the last little while that she lived. Cut deep slashes in the wing (don't use tips) and then beat it up with a hammer. You can play tug with it with the fuzzies and then leave it for them to play and stash and chew. You can leave it with them for just over 24 hrs for them to play with. Good luck ciao

Dakota does seem a little reseved. Everyone else is all fun and games, while she kind of takes her time. I know feeding the others mice have realy brought out their personalitys.
I did not get around to geting a meat out, but i did get them their meat mush. Everyone is tired so nothing has been eaten yet.

Keep working at it, it's really worth it in the end. Maybe, taking the food out before you go to school and letting it thaw in the fridge so you don't have to think about it when you get home?? ciao
