They all seem to be doing well. Gave them turkey wings the other day and they were having a great time. Frida is doing great and starting to pig out when the food gets near.

They are continuing to do well. Aiko seems to be getting pretty aggressive towards the others. The other day after eating she bit onto the side of Diego's face and wouldn't let go. My bf had to scruff her and pull the two of them apart. I am guessing that Diego must have done something that she didn't like. Here is a picture of the two of them that I found on my camera.

Aw, the pic is so cute!!!!
As for Aiko, did she draw blood? Ferrets biting each other is normal behavior provided that there is no blood shed. I've seen mine grab each other and attempt to grag the other under the bed.
I'm sorry I missed your other post, I'm glad that they are doing so well. Frida included... Whet is their menu like now??

No blood drawn on Diego from Aiko. We have always watched them fighting and laugh because we know it looks tougher than it actually feels to them. We could see indentations on the side of Diego's face when we got them apart. Since then there hasn't been any fighting other than their normal play fighting. Their menu is mix of chicken turky pork some with bone some without as well as sometimes some gizzards as well as chicken liver. I gave them a little bit of kibble the other day as we were out of meat (house of mostly vegetarians) and ust to see if they would eat it if that was the option for food for them in case we need to take them to the vet for boarding if we go out of town.

If you can post a exact menu (either exactly what you fed last week or what you will be feeding this week)... You may be ready to graduate.

This past week they had chicken hearts for about 3 days, beef liver for 3 days and lamb chunks added in for the remaining day and mixed in throughout the rest of the week. The exact days it is hard for me to remember as i have been sick and my bf has been doing the feedings. I am thinking that I might need to start shopping at BJ's for them so I can get a large amount of meats for them so they dont run out so fast. They are pretty hefty eaters

Okay, as far as prey variety goes you are okay (3 or more is the minimum) but your menu didn't include bone. You need to feed atleast 4 days a week of bones, even if you feed bone-in and boneless in the same day.

This week they had chicken breast for a couple days, beef liver and heart a couple days, lamb for a couple days and chicken wings spread out throughout the week.

That looks pretty good.. I'll get Guili to review.
Was the breast bone in?? And just a tip, if you rotate between wings, breast, legs and thighs it will supply more dark meat and taurine.. Plus legs and thighs are cheaper.

they are boneless ones... so thighs and legs are usually cheaper? hmmm that might help a little on cost because they are pigs!

Yes, thighs and legs are cheaper. Even more so since the breast that you've been feeding is boneless.
I think you're ready to graduate but I haven't seen Guili around lately???

Looks like you have got everything under control. Thank you Tss for doing a great job mentoring. Musickoala...... Time to Graduate!!! Now there is one last thing I want you to do (and then I am moving this thread to the "newbie switch archive": If you haven't already, it might be a good idea to start popping in to NaturalFerrets. I know forum is small right now, but that is because they are switching to the new forum from a yahoo! group. There are many many senior raw feeders on there and it would be wise to make use of their knowledge. I try and advise all my "completed switchers" to get on there and post a bit. I still want you to say on HF, but I want you to "broaden your horizons" by getting a bit of NaturalFerret's info as well. Sound good? www.NaturalFerrets.comYou'll probably run in to the Holistic Ferret Mentors on there. This is where THEY go to ask THEIR questions on natural diet (I do too). Let me know if you get any good info out of here. and....... Now that you've completed the switch, have had your feeding schedule reviewd, and been advised to check out NaturalFerrets, its time to retire this thread to the "newbie switch archive"! No one (yourself included) will be able to post in this thread anymore once its been moved to the archive. Please begin posting your diet-related questions in the "whole prey" "raw" or "general feeding questions and discussion" area. We encourage EVERYONE that is archived to continue posting. Feeding a natural diet is a learning PROCESS, there is much to learn after making the switch. We (your mentor and I) will run a detailed "check up" with you (via PM or email) at the 3 month, 6 month, and 1 year anniversary since "going natural" just to make sure all is going well and that you arent having any issues. Feel free to jump in and help to answer newbie questions. One of the ways you can learn is through teaching. We hope you stick around so that we can celebrate the 1 year anniversary of starting your babies on raw with you!
