Hello from upstate NY... we have 8 woozles, was only last August it was 2, but every now and again I seem to hear a fert calling to me, and off we go to adopt. 4 jills and 4 hobs currently supervise the goings ons in our home. They snooze in a 3 level FN, get plenty of supervised playtimes, and are so very spoiled. The youngest is almost 16 weeks old, the eldest is 17 months old, they all get along wonderfully. I just learned an important lesson......watch the ferts hidey holes...pieces of raw chicken will become very interesting in a short period of time and the smell is quite distinctive!!

Welcome to the group! Ah....ferret math! It's a rare ferrent that hasn't had this occur I know I'm guilty at 7 (once up to 10)! It's AMAZING how one tiny little piece of jerky chicken can give off such a room clearing odor I'm pretty up on all stash spots but occasionally they'll slip one in an unusual spot they know I'll miss - like their bed! Sleeping with the food can be stinky You'll find everyone here very helpful and knowledgeable. Look forward to chatting in the future

I have a mouse question...I am about ready to place a rodentpro order..and thinking hoppers look about the right size? I have 2 ferts who will take whole prey and I hope the others will be tempted. They get chicken routinely, have a few who like fine ground rabbit, & dehydrated mouse(pogos). Their kibble is a mix of Wysong products, totally ferret, EVO cat and EVO ferret, and 8 in 1 ultimate.

welcome to the group, as for your mouse question i usally order a mix of sizes, while the pinkys make good snacks the rest of them i like to give in one meal a few of the weanlings, a few of the hoppers and a few of the large ones. This way they get a nice mixture ofnutrients

I absolutely agree with Jasmine. Variety is key. When I place my orders I go with: 1. Pinkies 2. Fuzzies 3. Weaned/hoppers 4. Small adults 5. Large adults 6. Extra large adults If you dont have a ton of cash to spend, I would go with small, large, and extra large adult mice Hoppers are actually TINY....REALLY TINY. Go with the large adults or extra large adults You'll be going through ALOT of hoppers trying to keep your ferts full. Its okay to get smaller mice and feed multiples, for example I feed my male, 4-5 month old ferret 3 weaned/hopper mice on one day, 2 small mice on another day, and 1 extra large mouse the next day. Each of these days he gets a plam sized piece of meat, in addition to his prey.

Hello there! (We're kinda related...lol) How's Squeak? To those that don't know, she has one of the siblings to my Mystic & Majik! =) The babies are used to getting large mice, so that's what I give mine. I tried fuzzies when they first came home, but they wouldn't touch them. They sure will take the large ones though! One of my other ferrets decided to try mice too, & is now a regular. =) I'm right there with ya on ferret math.... Last Sept, I had 2...when Ace comes home the end of June, I will have 7. I cannot believe how fast these babies are growing!!! Mystic is still tiny, but Majik is huge! It's good to see you here!!!
