I was wondering if feeding ground meat is ok? For some reason I felt the need to ask. I'm trying to put together a meal plan for my ferrets since they need 7lbs of meat a week and I was going to see how much it would be to order from Hare Today. So ground meat...yes...no?

Ground meat works well- it's the way you get premade frozen! I just wouldn't leave it out nearly as long as a piece of meat. Since ground has far more surface area, it can turn faster, and would be more likely to develop bacteria.

Ground can work just fine as long as all your bases are getting covered nutritionally (organ and bone included, too) but be aware that the dental health benefits of other natural diets aren't as great since they are not getting the gnawing action which helps to clean teeth.
