*Mods I wasn't sure where to put this. If it needs to be moved please do* I don't know if anyone knows this but thought I would share. When I was working in Alzheimer care (years ago) we used a commercial grade Hydrogen Peroxide mix to clean. Most people are unaware that HP is a very efficient disinfectant that kills most bacteria's. Then I found that if you spritz HP and then spritz Vinegar then rinse (for food) it kills most of those nasty bugs like salmonella. It is also very effective against mold! Just keep in mind that HP deteriorates very fast in clear bottles (from light) and you should NEVER mix (in the same bottle) HP and Vinegar. The best part... it's much cheaper than any other cleaner you can get and it's not toxic!!!! Here are some links: www.michaelandjudystouffer.com/judy/articles/vinegar.htmwww.truthorfiction.com/rumors/h/hydrogen-peroxide.htmI'm not sure about how safe HP is for ferrets if they were to eat it but I do know that HP is used on ferret wounds so I'm guessing it's ok in small amounts. If anyone knows let me know.

Per my vet, I have used HP to induce vomitting for a dog. (1/2 cup, then 1/4 cup) I would think that in small amounts it wouldn't be harmful, but could cause vomitting. (Don't we now have a vet on here?) I do like the idea of using HP & vinegar for cleaning/disinfecting, rather than other cleaners.

A little bit shouldnt cause vomiting, besides how often is it that ferrets eat bowls/lick cage bases and so on?

I used vinegar and HP for a month or so after reading about it on here. I read that you could spay either first and it would be use as affective, but less affective if mixed together. The problem is that I HATE the smell of vinegar... I'm back to my less natural cleaners now
