I heard a ruckus in Ghia's feeding den and found this going on:

Ghia is the one doing all the hissing which is super funny 'cause she's usually so quiet. Fierra on the other hand hisses at the cats and when she's chasing toys all the time. You can see that Fierra is just as shocked as I was about Ghia's reaction.

Isn't it great having food worth fighting for That's my house whenever there are gibblets and mice are offered. They can get snippy about rats but usually it's over the gibblets. There are always enough to go around but that one must taste the best of all. It's even better when the one furbaby will grab and then make a run for it. In my house that results in a line of ferrets racing all over the house trying to catch the stolen gibblet. The joke...9 times out of 10, Napoleon then has the whole bowl of gibblets to himself

That sounds like Lucrezia! For some reason, Sinnead absolutely must check out what Lucrezia's eating, even if it means dropping her own in favour of it . I love the food fights that break out.

That's too funny! My kids do that too, they will each have their own mouse, & it never fails, one of them will stash their mouse & try to go steal someone else's mouse, then a tug of war ensues, hissing, etc. It's funny to watch.
It's a higher valuable food source, & they want it all to themselves.
Mine never actually "fight" over mice, it's always a stealing game...LOL

I've frightened all the non-ferret people with this video. They went from "Oh! They're just so adorable!" to "OMG! How can you live with those wild animals?" Funny what people think of as acceptable pet behavior. To me it looked like they were having fun doing a little playacting ferret style. But then... I am a ferret person.

Luci, that's hilarious!! I know that familiar hiss. Weasel constantly steals Slinky's food- as he's eating it. Then I have two ferrets having a tug-of-war with a chunk of meat. *hiss*
