Twitch hunts no problem and normally eats what she kills. Damien had his first taste of mouse last week when Twitch was sleeping and I offered him a mouse. He protected it against the other ferrets and ate it.
Yesterday I put everyone in the bathtub and let loose two mice. Twitch went and killed them both and devoured them both (she ate too fast and ended up throwing them back up) Damien killed his first mouse, but he didn't have much time to eat it.
Lilith and Kale didn't want anything to do with the mice. I have some mouse pinks so I'm going to start them on whole prey. I guess it was just lucky for me that Damien jumped straight into full sized mice.

Good for Damien! Twitch does sound like a little piggy, doesn't she . Just think- Damien will be hunting his own soon enough! I'd start him out a little smaller to learn how to hunt and kill, though- just to be on the safe side!

I was given a bunch of mice and with it came a litter of pinks, so I'm going to give him a pink, let the litter get some fur, feed him a fuzzy, let them grow up a bit, then feed him a hopper, ect, ect, until he's used to full grown mice. Then I start this process all over with Lilith and Kale.
I would like to get them on a strictly whole prey diet, so first I need them all to be eating whole prey readily. Twitch is no problem and I'll probably try a gerbil on her this week.
