YAY!!!! Oliver at his first mouse today!! Well it's head, but it's a start!! I was so proud! I put egg yolk on the mouse and tied a string to it and pulled it around in the tub (it was frozen). Oliver pounced and started shaking it! Than he tried to get out of the tub to hide it, so I put him in the feeding cage were he finished the head. I put Chewie in the feeding cage to try some, but he wouldn't have any of it . I was so excited though cause Ollie's my picky eater and Chewie's my eat-everything-in-sight boy. I'm so proud! Oh and I have pics that I'll post soon! (a.k.a in about a month )

It might be because of it being cold that he didn't want to eat much of it.. But that is exciting!!!!! When Jillian was still living and her and Lillian were in quarintine we got them a medium sized rat.. Somehow they ate it VERY quickly.. It scared me because I thought they shoved it out of the cage bars or something.. But nope, they ate it and left the intestine and stomache. I guess they were smart and didn't want anything but meat!

Yes. It was a young rat, but not a baby. It was scary that they ate the whole thing!!

Yeah I would be scared too!! Wow! Oh something I did forget to mention (a little OT), when I was putting the egg yolk on the mouse I tried giving some to Chewie and Oliver and instead of licking it off, Chewie decided it would be better to take my whole finger off (I still have 10 fingers )!!!! It was partly my fault and thankfully he didn't go to deep, but it hurt! Geez! He's such a carnivore ! Guess that's a good thing though!

Aw. He probably just didn't realize it was your finger. I'm sure it probably hurt though!

Yeah it was my fault. I could feel him starting to nibble, but then CHOMP!!! I'll survive though.

Congrats! I remember how excited I was when Xander decided HE wanted a mouse, when the babies were getting them. I didn't have to try to convince him at all, he started stealing the other mouses...LOL Xander got his first live mouse the other day & Ace had his first live mouse since I have had him. My ex refused to let me give them live mice, so they got micicles...

Yeah I don't think I can do live mice . They're to cute no matter how hard I try to think that they're not. I was so surprised when Ollie started eating it!! He's so picky! I tied a string around the mouse and dragged it around the bath tub, Ollie thought it was a fun toy. Then he bit into it and was like "FOOOOODDD!!!"lol. Oh and something else I forgot to mention is that my dad caught a mole in the mouse trap. A MOLE! These ferrets are gonna get a lot of variety. Just wish we had caught that skunk in our garage .
