I try to feed him meal worms but its very difficult. once he smells them he gets excited and eager to eat them to the point where hes impatient with it and tries to bite my fingers off.
I tried using snake feeder tongs but he goes apeshit and attacks the tongs missing and seeming to not really even see the worms. if theyre in front on him on the carpet he most of the time overlooks them when theyre right in front of him on the carpet. I even tried putting them in a small fish food lid and he just dumps it over and still over looks them on the floor. he found 3 on the floor and ate them and kept overlooking the other 2 left. Maybe his sight isnt that great?
anyways is there an easier way to feed him these mealies? i dont know if i should discipline him for biting fingers while feeding that would seem wrong. will he stop this when he gets older and is fully taught and doesnt bite anymore even if he is eager to eat the worms?

Isn't it strange when you don't know if you should be happy or upset that your ferret is so excited about their food? Haha. Our baby ferret is very excited about her meal worms too.
Have you tried feeding them in your palm instead of pinched between your fingers? This might be better since if you hold your palm flat there isn't much to nip onto.
