Just been wondering about this..
We have brown mice/rats in the walls and I've been unable to kill them. The wooden snap traps aren't working for me and I refuse to use poison because I don't want my fuzzies getting a hold of any. The only luck I've had is catching mice with those sticky traps, then I'll throw the whole thing out to the cats.
I wondered though, if ferrets can eat house mice (little brown) and/or attic rats (big brown).? I probably won't offer them, but just wondered if that is possible. I've read wild animals like that would have to be frozen for at least a month (?) and I worry about the nasties.
Well, aside from that- any ideas on killing these nasties?? I've tried peanut butter on snap traps, but the rat traps don't go off. The mouse traps go off, but don't catch anything.
Any thoughts are very welcome.
thanks~

I really don't know, what kind of area do you live in? If it is in the city I'd avoid them since they eat junk. I've had luck with have a heart live traps, for mice. If you have a harbor freight store you can get one of these www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=94397I think they are $15 in store so print the ad and they will match the price. I've caught a very small possum with one of those, it was less then a pound so I'm sure it will work for rats.

That sounds like a good idea. I'll check Tractor Supply's sizes/prices. I'm in a suburb area. There's a small woody area next to the house. I think we get rodent problems at least once a year (they hide out in sheds/garages). Thanks for the idea

the problem with feeding wild rodents is you dont know what they been eating , Nieghbors useing poison pellets for pest control and such . I have always had success with live traps using smal peaces of fruit and sunflower seeds .
