does anyone have any pictures of their dig boxes?
i made my kids their first official one last night. its just a high sided cardboard box. i cut a hole in it and put the green tube that came with superpet cage i had for matilda when she was a baby. filled it with white rice that my mom gave me and fixed a few toys to the side. they loved it!
however, i would like to make a more permanent one that it a bit more attractive. what do ya'lls look like?

I will have to try and get some pics of mine but what I did was use one of the plastic tubs. I cut a hole in either end of the box, ran tubing into the hole (if you don't they drag rice, sand all over the place). I used a 10lb bag of play sand and just put the cover on (that way they don't go in and out over the sides and take all that nice sand with them. I used a clear tub for their sand box, so I can see them playing in there. The rice box is a solid rubbermaid box and it has a hole in one end that they can come and go out of Unfortunately, you can't see what's going on inside but they have a lot of fun and it an economical way to keep the sand or shredded paper or rice in one place. I also use them as sleep boxes too. Some have direct routes in others have tunnels. ciao

I just cut a hole in the top of mine - I have an extra cage ramp I used to help them get to the top of thebox - they don't seem to need it though. If you want to put a tube going into the plastic box, I've read that if you cut the hole small/very tight and submerge the bin in a tub of HOT water, the platic bin will soften so the tube can be added more easily. Then when the plastic cools off , it tightens back up so the fits securely in the box. I haven't tried putting a tube in thebox - I'm chicken I'll mess it up!!! -jennifer

Wow that is alot of kool things n ideas. I really interested in making a dig box because my younger ferret nina. LOVES to dig. She digs even if there nothing for her to dig up. I usually take my ferret outside to dig in the flower garden. (haha my mom hates it ) Now that its winter. Its too cold outside. So they been restricted inside even though sometime i find them running outside with spazed out fluffy tails. Also jumping about crazy. "makes me soo mad that there outside but I can't stay mad forever from there cute ferret noses" Anyhow I am planning soon to go out and purchase some things for dig box and so far this is my list.
Large plastic box tunnel of some type rice or sand which not sure how much lid for the box? idk wat else?
