Man I just rescued a Ferret that came in that exact same cage. By the second night I was crying because she looked so cramped and depressed in that cage. I couldn't do anything with it, the more toys I put in the harder it was for her to move around safely but I couldn't stand to see her cage bare. I couldn't imagine having 6 in that cage. We have FNs and it's all I'll ever own, even then I'd only put 4 Ferrets in that cage, 5 pushing it. I feel for every Ferret you have it should have it's own level. I have one litter box for my Ferret Nation now. 2 of my 5 that are in there weren't litter trained and at the time when I had 3 corner boxes, 1 cat box and 1 high end rabbit box. They never used it. I got rid of all them (boxes) and put one really short gallon tote in there that reached from one end of the cage to the other, I precisely cut it down in the middle so they didn't have to jump over the edge and they all use it, even the ones that couldn't stand litter boxes, and it took up as much space as 2 of my corner litter boxes. So that along with the multiple, spacious levels leaves me more room to add lots of enrichment and bedding for my 5 in a Ferret Nation until another 142 arrives and we connect them because I still feel it's not enough room for mine.
Even with hours of being outside of the super pet cage, it's just not suitable to house 6 Ferrets. If the super pet cage is what "they love" then get another one, it's barely cheaper then the Ferret Nation, you could either attach both cages or separate some which shouldn't be a problem if they're attached given that they're probably allowed out enough that they could see each other often.
