De is on a ground raw diet because she has horrible teeth and cant chew whole raw. She is 8 years old. Normally De eats Hare Today, Gone Tommorow ground raw meat/bone/organ mixes of: Turkey Duck Rabbit (fur still on) Chicken Pheasent She's running low on food so I decided to spice thing up and try out NV this time. I know alot of HF members use and recommend this product so I thought I'd give it a go myself. I got about 5 (?) different "flavors" so that De will have a nice variety. I just placed my order online and I hope to have my package soon. I'll let you know if she likes it (I sure hope she does otherwise there goes $120 down the drain!!!!)

I hope she likes it. Trippyferret sent me a coupon NV sent her when she asked for free samples. It is good for a whole bag of frozen raw but she could not find a supplier near me. If you have a supplier near you (which you probably don't since you ordered yours) it would have been great if you could have gotten a coupon from them as well.

My guys all loved the chicken, beef, and lamb that they tried (they liked them in that order). It gave Ernie really pretty poop, which made me happy!

I bought the organic chicken and rabbit for mine awhile back and they really enjoyed it. It's been awhile since I bought any of that though, it's a bit expensive and I just don't have the extra cash at the moment. My ferrets drive me nuts - they get raw meats in their weekly soups, they'll eat various freeze-dried and frozen raw foods, but if I toss them a chicken wing or other RMB, they look at me like I'm trying to poison them!! I did start the switch to raw a couple weeks ago and I secretly started adding some ground up meats to their food and they've been eating it. I'm hoping that when I start adding small chunks they'll eat that, but I have a feeling they might give me a hard time. Well, I hope your fuzzies enjoy the NV, variety is always nice. Even when I do finally get mine on raw, I plan on still offering them ZiwiPeak, freeze dried foods/treats, and some commercial raw foods just so they have a nice variety.

How is the NV raw packaged ? I been trying to figure a way to feed my guys when I travel instead of just freeze dried I am wondering if I could go to a store buy some to feed just for 1 or 2 days at a time . I do alot of camping so to have a frezer is rarely a option and when traveling for work sometimes its hard to find hotel rooms with fridges in them . Guili I am keeping my Fingers crossed that Dee loves the NV and enjoys the new varity it can give her

NV frozen medallions need to be frozen. They are packaged in a plastic bag with a zip-lock style seal on top. If you are camping, you could store them in an ice chest for a few days. You wouldn't be able to being them if you were in a hotel without a fridge, but you could bring a small ice chest to a hotel room without any problems.

I bought a bag of NV a while ago because my Primal order didn't actually get placed at work. Honestly... I was not impressed. My youngest cat, who is by far the most food crazed, actually ran away from his bowl. The ferrets weren't too keen on it either, and I can't blame them. Cats and ferts usually get Primal or Bravo for their morning meal, both of which are very much meaty looking and leave blood in the bowls/unthawing bags. The NV left no blood whatsoever and was very rubbery... didn't look at all like real meat.

aww sorry to hear De didn't approve We still haven't opened the NV we got because I had a big bag of chicken and pork chunks to feed the ferts over this crazy holiday weekend. I'm fairly certain I'll be able to convince Nyx to try it if I put a little warm water with it. And my dog will eat practically anything.. He just has a delicate stomach so sometimes he regrets his eating decisions later lol.

Aw! I've been breaking medallions into bite-size chunks and the boys just wolf them, especially when I agree to sit there and dole them out by hand. I'm happy that they're an easy meal when I can't be there to feed them myself. Even my old girl likes them all soupy.

Shame she didnt like the NV. Not even the dog liked it! How did you try feeding it? I think ferrets mostly don't like the new sticky texture, but if you thaw it and mix and mash it up to a more watery soupie texture she might like it like that. Thats how I got Apple and Kiwi to like it. Now they both love all of them!

You could try to add a little at a time to her other ground raw like you would when switching a ferret to raw with a soupie. Just add more of the NV every time she eats it and hopefully she will take to it. I'm sorry she didn't like it.

Giuli-
Where did you order the NV from? What did you pay for them? I'm just curious if I can find it cheaper online!
