Okay I will ask her for a lower price. Tonight I am going to feed 2 pinkies, 1 hopper/weanling? and an adult... I am hoping that if I feed them one after another they will eat the adult tonight. Lets see!

Oops, since your post was on the next page I missed it!
Yes, I am so proud of everyone! I haven't tried chunks of chicken for my OOnie... I think I am afraid of him turning it down! I think tonight I will try cutting a pinkie in half and rolling it in his mush and see what he has to say.

After a few days of working on it, I got Tony to agree to let me breed mice for the ferrets. I have to wait to set things up until I get a little extra money, but I am really excited for my kids!

So last night I fed the big kids 2 pinkies, 2 hoppers, and 1 adult mouse. They ate the two pinkies right away and 1 of hoppers. I played with Didj with the adult but he didn't eat any and Ramona and I played with the second hopper but it was still mostly intact.
GUESS WHAT! This morning they were gone! Someone ate the ADULT mouse! Not a trace left of it!!! I am so proud. Unfortunately I don't know who did it, but I am guessing it was Didjeridu.
YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY!

They will get the hang of it. Try cutting the bone in half length wise to expose the marrow. Dont cut it into bits, just cut it in half. That *should* help them to get the idea that chewing on the bone is a good thing.

I don't think you meant to post that for me....? Hehe it happens.
This morning I fed Didj and Mona part of a Cornish Game Hen (1 wing and 1/2 breast approximately). Usually they won't eat much of it, for some reason they seem to dislike it. well this morning they went to town on it! They breast was a nice big chunk, bigger than they had had before and they widdled it down to a much smaller piece. I forgot to give Ernie some because I fed him a little later in the morning.

Oh, whoops! WTH? I think I forget to look at page 11! Holy crap that is great that they ate an adult mouse! Whoo hooo!!! And the cornish game hen, was it all chopped up? How big were the pieces? Ah! I'm so proud!

I did the same thing with the pages yesterday! I had previously chopped the CGH into 4-5 bags of meat. This bag once one solid piece: breast and back with one wing attached. I broke it into two pieces and they chewed off some of each. The two pieces were wing size (it was a big CGH almost the size of a chicken wing) and the breast/back part was about half the size of my clenched fist, which is more than twice the size of what they have been eating!

I forgot to mention... The past few days Ramona and Didj have had..... AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL POOP! SERIOUSLY! The other night I was so amazed by one poop that I made my man come in and look at it. He said "That isn't a normal ferret sh*t.... THAT'S A TURD!" It perfectly described this poop. It was so nice and firm it could have rolled off the newspaper and fell in my lap! I'm glad I can say all this on this forum and not be looked at strangely! Hahaha! Today Didj and Ramona's poops have been HUGE and FIRM. I love it!

Yay! Good poop! Isn't it great? I love natural diet poop, its so easy to clean, doesnt stink much, and isnt all squishy and gross lol. Anytime I see kibble-poop I feel like puking lol I'm so happy to hear that Didj and Ramona are eating bigger hunks of raw meaty bones! That is amazing! I'm so proud of them (and you!) Look how far you all have come!

Today's meals (same for both breakfast and dinner):
Ramie&Didj: chunks of beef liver and lamb kidney, chunks of chicken neck Ernie: Nature's variety chicken and lamb medallions with TINY chunks of organs/chicken from the big kids. For breakfast I mushed up the chunks with the medallions but DID NOT add any water (I always add water). It was about the consistancy of canned cat food, kind of firm. ERNIE ATE IT ALL! I also offered him a chunk of organ and her licked it many times but didn't know how to eat it... haha.
Things are going great!
I forgot to mention that I was able to find Ziwipeak Venison freeze-dried daily cat at a local mom&pop pet store!!! It was $11.99 I believe, for a small bag, is this at all reasonable? I won't be buying it since Ern is doing so well, but I will keep it in mind.
Also, Ernie goes in at 8am tomorrow for teeth cleaning! Wish him luck and keep him in your thoughts please!

WOW!!!! BIG FURRY MICE!!!!!! VERY COOL!!!!! AND LITTLE ERNIE EATING ORGAN MEATS AND LITTLE CHUNKS OF MEAT TOO!!!! Girl, at this rate you should be buying lottery tickets Get Ernie on those chunks - even if you offer them as a hand-fed treat. We want him ready for some wing tips!!! Before you know it, Ernie will be caught up with the others! Keep up the incredible work!!! -jennifer And Yes, the 11.99 is pretty average for freeze-dried meats.

I KNOW! Thanks Jennifer! PLUS my man said I could breed mice in our apartment... which is huge for us. I feed very fortunate to have such an understanding boyfriend. I know things are very different for other couples but we are both vegan. For him to even understand me bringing meat into our home is huge, bringing frozen prey into our home was even bigger. Now he will let me bring mice into our home to feed my babies... Wow. As I said, this may not seem big to other people but it really is. He gets how much I care for my furkids, he understands what I am passionate about, HECK most people don't even understand why people like us would even want ferrets as pets! I am very thankful for everything Giuli, you, and the other mentors have going on this forum. You all are not only changing ferret lives, but the lives and perspectives of many humans too. Thanks guys
