Hi everyone, I am new to this forum, but I was reading about the convenience of the NV patties and medallions and the issue of the overall cost of this food, but I just wanted to remind you that there is another option that hasn't been mentioned in regards to using NV raw food. NV also offers their raw in a "chub" which is the cheapest form but not as convenient. It comes in an either 1 lb or 2 lb package (don't remember the exact weight) and you would just have to divide it up yourself when you got it home. It can be a bit of a pain to divide up because it will be frozen, but it is still cheaper than the patties/medallions bc your not paying for the convenience. Just wanted to offer that option to others that are hesitant to go that route bc of the costs.

It's a really good idea, and not anymore inconvenient than cutting and chopping meat for them!

I was curious if the NV type raw foods would be ok to feed daily due to them having fruits/veggies and about 4 different types of eggs mixed into the meat. I am new to trying the raw alternative, and I was told not to feed fruits/veggies and to limit eggs to only a treat about 1x's a wk. I have 2 ferrets that I am trying the switch with, and 1 goes CRAZY for the raw chicken thigh meat whereas the other wont touch raw meat!! However, they will both eat the freeze dried meat treats.

NV has 5% fruit and veggies in each patty which is an acceptable amount. However, there are other brands out there that have NO fruits and veggies. Just like there are some with less fruit and vegetables, equal amount of fruit and vegetables, and some with more.
Since it's OK to advertise on this forum - check out my online store (in my siggy). These are all freeze dried foods which are eaten by my ferts, and have passed the "less than 5%" rule.
Dr Susan Brown and Bob Church both use NV, so I feel that 5% is an acceptable amount and work from there.

There's a website called hare-today.com that ships raw meat already ground - bones, organs, and all, so you wouldn't have to see the organs themselves, if that helps
