I thought I would be clever and pick up some crickets while I was out buying a tank for mice (!!!). I bought 10 medium crickets and we went about out errands before we got home. Went we arrived at our home, I took out the bag of crickets and was all excited to feed them to the ferrets... but they were all half dead! The guy at the pet store must have blew up the bag instead of "catching" air... after working at Petsmart I learned that air from your lungs will kill crickets.
I put the poor things in the bath tub and they just walked around. I stuck Didjeridu in because I thought he would know what to do... nothing. Same with Ramona, and Ernie was too busy trying to jump out of the to avoid what he thought was a bath. Finally the baby squished and ate two! The remaining crickets are still in my bathtub, too zonked to jump out. What can I do to keep them alive? Next time I will make sure the bag isn't blown up by mouth!

If you can next time, take a tub with some pin holes in for air I am suprised they didnt give you them in a tub though, talk to any petshop over here about putting them in a bag and its like the end of the world is up on us I dont think there is much you can do at the moment for the crickets, just leave them to do what they want and maybe feed them a peice of fruit/veg. If they dont perk up I would say kill them yourself and give them to the ferrets. It took a LOT of enticing to get some of ours to eat crickets at first but it was definatly worth it.
