Well after feeding 5 mice (4 females and 1 male) for the last month, I now have been overrun with little peeps. I can't believe the number of little pink wiggling bodies. Now, I had never anticipated that the mice moms were going to go communal. For some stupid reason I thought they would pick their individual corners and have their babies . Shows what I know about mice They've even taken their bedding and created a wall around the nursery and then taken the shredded paper and put it over the top so you can't see the babies. They have created a little nursery in the corner of their space. There is always 1 or 2 moms in there feeding the little sods. I realize that they're supposed to be weaned at 3 to 4 weeks but they had these little ones at about 4 or 5 day intervals. Should I wait until all of them are past the 4 week mark. I couldn't begin to differentiate between first arrived and last (other than there seems to be some that are developing fuzz) They're all pink and peeping.... and moms have all different ones all over them?? So they're obviously not nursing only their own. So this part of my adventure is just beginning I keep telling my furbrats that they have to wait until some of these guys grow up because right now they're not even a mouthful.... ciao
