I may be able to, dont know. but Can I start out with frozen, then live? or os raw neccessary at first? I need to know before asking so if she asks qustions, I can answer them. thanks!

I think it's better to start with raw and work up, but if your ferret excepts whole prey right away you can just start off with that.

ok, so can I use pine shavings since their feeders? or dirt???/ like the stuff at walmart??

Pine shavings can cause problems for the animals. Dirt would work. Or aspen, carefresh, or shredded paper.

Iknow about pine, I was just wondering since their feeders.... I may do dirt, but how to convince parents to do whole prey??

Hmmmm....convincing parents is always a challenge....I would think since your mom didn't want raw though, she may not want live animals being fed to your ferret. Something I was thinking about doing is "renting" part of the garage from my parents to keep the cages of the mice located. And even though the feeders are food, it should still be top quality right ;-)?

the only reason she doesnt want raw is so we odnt get sick.... so whole prey may be more sanitary.. and a garage might work... I will see...

Ive been feeding my dog raw for over a year total now, and ive never gotten sick from it Im having the same problem also convincing my parentst o let me breed mice for my ferrets, so good luck, i know how hard it can be

It's definitly possible to start with whole prey, and for the first year or so thats all ours at the time got (rabbit, mice, quail, pigeon, game hen, phesant, chicken, DOTC etc). I am also trying to convince my parents to let me breed mice. Good luck
