Hey all, An update: The woozels are back on track with eating their ground. I've begun adding chunks of chicken and beef and they are taking to it really well. They all get excited for mealtimes and come running when they notice me in the kitchen!! It's the greatest thing I'm hoping to get them fully off of the ground and onto chunks soon but that is still a bit of a testy subject for Ranger Wanted to let everyone know that they're still going strong and even poor sweet Ranger is getting back on track slowly. Thanks everyone!

I'm glad they are doing so well. Since Ranger is still testing the waters you can just feed him from another bowl, maybe even in another area. If the others are advancing in would be better to go ahead and let them do it.
Go you have any questions?
If you need help let me know!!

Everyone is eating chunked meats (I've tried chicken, turkey, chicken liver, and beef) mixed up with ground. They still are having difficulty registering plain chunks as food, like if I have a piece in my hand and offer it to them, they sniff it, look blankly at me, and run away. But when it is mixed up with the ground, they eat it just fine. I haven't been using kibble at all for the past week or so in their meals, but have been offering on the side rehydrated Stella and Chewy's patties (freeze-dried chicken and also lamb,) which they've also been eating. So it's still a matter of getting them to understand that plain chunks are also food.
Pilot has, on occasion, shared Diesels RMB meals, but prefers the ground/chunks out of a bowl.
Tank and Ranger will both only eat the ground/chunks out of the bowl; have not even sniffed at some of Diesel's meals.

The way I switched Weezer was by taking freeze dried/dehydrated foods (including the Stella and Chewy's) and crushed it into a powder and mixed it with ground meat. I slowly added chunks of meat and eventually took the ground away, he wouldn't eat the chunks plain so I sprinkle some powder over them and added LITTLE bit of hot water. He started eating them like that and I slowly decreased the amount of powder I used, he still won't eat his RMBS completely plain so I use a tiny amount of powder or squirt a fish oil tab over it.

Mustelidmusk (one of our other mentors) also recommends the freeze-dried to raw transition.

The Pilot puff is gnawing on bones!! Ranger and Tank won't eat meat off the bone, yet, but are doing very well on a mix of freeze-dried, ground, and chunks. They've been getting a good variety of meats, and I generally mix their bowl with 2/3 chunks, 1/3 ground, a small amount of water, and a sprinkle of crushed-up Stella & Chewy's. They aren't picky about it though and ARE eating the chunks now!!

Excellent! BTW, I LOVE that shower hook idea Thanks! It was an ingenious idea that I started doing back in February when I brought Diesel home, and started waking up to chicken wings in my bed This way, the meats stay where I want them (I feed them both in the cage, and in a carrier, but both cage and carrier are always open as my kids have free-roam.)

An update - I noticed that Diesel has been getting lazy and eating out of the bowl instead of his raw offerings. So I moved the cage around so that I can separate Ranger and Tank's feedings from Diesel and Pilot's. They don't like it at all, because it means being CAGED until I see that everyone has eaten, but this keeps me in the know as to who is eating what. Lazy woozels
