I have my three ferrets eating raw right now and I was hoping to up the size of meat chunks I feed them. Today I gave them pork and beef chunks that were between 1 and 3 thumbs size... if that makes sense. The ferrets wanted to eat the chunks but had trouble eating them because they were so solid and rectangular. I ended up pulling and tearing the meat a little so they had something to start on.
How big are the boneless chunks you feed your ferrets? What is an idea size?
Obviously, it would be great to throw a steak in there and not have to worry about taking the time to chop it up, but is this really a possibility?

I gradually worked my ferrets up to eating a "palm sized" piece of boneless meat. I used to feed them chunks about half the size of my thumb. I had to gradually work them up to that, but now I can throw in a raw, bone-in chicken breast, a whole raw chicken wing, or a palm sized piece of raw pork and they go to town like champs. It WILL take them some time (not too long though) to build up jaw strength. Its hard work chomping through meat . Just gradually get them eating bigger pieces, don't baby them, but don't push them *too* fast, and they'll be eating whatever you throw at 'em soon enough.

I found that scoring the meat, at least for the newbie chunkie fert eaters seemed to help. It just gives them something to sink their teeth into. It gives them little shreds of meat and they don't seem to get as discouraged as quickly and then they won't stash and give up on it as fast. Just a thought:) ciao
