So I'm part of RawPaws on Yahoo, and though I don't have dogs or cats its very interesting to me to read about their diets and what you can and can't feed.
A girl I work with has a 1 year old lapsa aphso or however you spell it. She feeds Purina because the first ingredient is lamb, and every other food she's ever found has corn as the first ingredient, and she won't pay more than $20 for a bag of food. So obviously Evo is out! Which I tried to tell her is much better and has more meat that your dog needs!
So she sent me this link: www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?c=2+1659+1661&aid=1030
Because I am puppy-sitting for her tomorrow night. Ummm isn't half of that information wrong?? It says not to feed raw eggs (ever) or bones (ever) and a whole chunk of things that I've ben reading about and have been ok!
I'm not going to try to convince her that feeding raw bones is perfectly safe if you feed the right size bone. She's completely stuck on the idea that it WILL break no matter what the bone is or whatever.
Anyway, I just wanted to clarify for myself.
Also, side note, I was at my friends house last night and she has a 3 month old silky terrier (cutest thing ever) and the ferrets and him don't get along. However Kiwi was eating her beef NV and the dog started licking her face (thru the cage) like crazy! So finally I reached in and when she was finished, grabbed the food to let the dog sniff it. He stuck his head right in the bowl and ate the whole thing!! He LOVED it! I was so surprised, I really didn't think this puppy would be that excited and then go searching for more! So yay! Raw food!
