Whenever I give the fuzzbuts a fish(about once a week), they flatly refuse to eat the head. In fact, I always find it in the litter box .Normal for fishheads?

What kind of fish have you tried? I've been thinking about offering fish. About how much/how big of a fish are you feeding at once? How do you offer it? Just a slab of fish, or cut up or mixed up in something?

I offer whole smelts or herring. I cut The herring into three or four chunks, as it's big enough to feed the lot of them! I've been lucky enough to get intact smelts from SuperStore, and the intact herring from a local raw pet food store. It's great, all their raw food is organic, with no antibiotic or growth hormone injections! I love it. That's where I usually get rabbit, quail, and premixed raw as well.

My ferrets didn't like smelt the first time I offered it. Is it worth trying again?

I'd give it another go, but if they turn their noses up again I wouldnt be upset. My guys wont eat fish, they just don't like it, and thats a-okay. In the wild, polecats really wouldnt eat that much fish anyway.
