i am trying to find the answer to this but i'm getting confused navigating so forgive me if this is already posted somewhere if you feed raw, do you have to add vitamin supplements like taurine or does meat naturally provide all that? thanx.

Remember?! There is no such thing as a stupid question Only questions left unasked are stupid All meat carries taurine, just some carries more than others. That's why you feed heart and offal as a supplement. If you are really concerned or your furchild refuses at this time to eat offal then supplementation may indeed be necessary. I personally avoid as much supplementation as possible and use only when there is indeed a gap in the nutritional value of their food. For example; I had a little fert, tiny little thing he weighed and was smaller than my smallest girls, all 400 grams of him refused in the most absolute to eat anything but ground rabbit meat (bear with the little sod, he was very ill and was allowed many spoiled priviliges) I supplemented him with dietary taurine as rabbit seemingly is quite low in taurine. Once I got him eating other meats and offal I stopped supplementing him with manufactured taurine. Just my experiences I was going to attach a chart but it turned into a mess of numbers that no one could make sense of, so I'm going to attach the link instead, I hope that it answers you question a little www.serve.com/BatonRouge/taurine_chmr.htmciao

When feeding raw, your ferret will get all the nutrients it needs *as long* as you follow the basic "ferret food pyramid" 75%- Meat (flesh, muscle, fat, skin, tendon, ligament, etc) 15%- Bone (small, edible bones, no larger then a chicken/rabbit bone) 10%- Organ meat (liver, pancreas, kidney, etc) the other key is providing variety. If you constantly switch up the type of meat you are feeding, as well as the "age" of meat you are feeding (such as "mutton vs lamb"), and the cut of meat you feed, your ferret will get all they need, no supplementation required. It might sound confusing, but its really not, once you sit down and learn the basics. for the upcoming Holistic Ferret Website all the information on how to properly feed a raw diet fits only just 2 word document pages (12pt font, Times New Roman, Single Spaced) so it really doesnt take gobs of info or time to learn how to do it
