So tonight I was making Chicken Parmesan for dinner and I had some scraps left over so and I decided what the heck...lets see if any of the babies will give it a try. I was pretty sure that they would turn up their cute little noses but I figured what the heck...what can it hurt. I asked Brent to bring Bandit to me. He was a little confused but a couple of minutes later came in holding her. I held out the chicken and she sniffed...and then she grabbed it and went to town. Since Bandit liked I thought...well, lets see what Smoke does. So I had Brent take Bandit back to the cage and bring me Smokey. Smoke was a little harder I actually had to rub it on his nose before he tried to swallow it whole. Since two out of four seemed interested I had Brent bring the whole crew into the bathroom and put them in the tub (where I could keep them all in one place for more than 30 seconds). They sniffed and seemed curious. Smokey and Bandit tried some more. When Monster (my old man and the one I really thought would never give up his kibble) started sniffing I held my breath thinking he might give it a try....after a few minutes I picked him up and rubbed some on his nose....and like the others he licked his nose and then started munching. The only one that I could not get to give it a try was Marley and he did a lot of sniffing and acted real curious so I don't think it will be long. And here are the photos: Smoke's 1st chicken dinner Monster gives it a try Bandit thinks its yummy too

You know I figured I was lucky that the babies were so willing to try it...but Monster...heck I had a hard time convincing him he wanted to give up the Meow Mix his previous owner fed him (he would actually pick through his dish and throw the good (as in better then Meow Mix) on the floor. Then he would poop on it . Really though, I had read all the stories and it seems pretty common for people to say...I tried giving them a piece of....and they looked at me like I was nuts. I figured it would be the same with my babies but since I had the scraps I figured it was worth a shot. I swear that Smokey swallowed his first piece whole. Brent was holding him and it just disappeared...I thought maybe he dropped it and Jerron snatched it up or something. But no...he just gulped it down real quick. It was funny though, once they got a taste they went after it like a kids in a candy store....

Congratulations! I'm happy they liked it so much. Here's hoping Marley listens to his friends as to how good it is

Excellent! This is great, and I love the pictures, thank you for posting them! Be sure to swing over to the nutrition section. Start a thread in the sub-forum titled "The Holistic Ferret Mentor Program". Fill out one of the forms that is stickied up top in that section and post into into your thread. Now that they are eating the meat, we will help you get them onto other meats, bone, organ, and eventually, help you put together a proper "feeding schedule" for them, so that they are getting a nice, varied, balanced diet
