I picked up some NV Lamb patties today, I went into my fave pet store because they sell 3 different types of premade raw and they had a 4 dollar off coupon so I decided what the hell!
Once I had a patty thawed I decided to test it out on the kids.. Puppy Grendel did fine, in fact he followed me around and insisted on licking my fingers afterwards! George loved it too, gobbled it right down. And as I expected the ferts sniffed it and ignored it, I smushed a few small pieces into their kibble to see what they'd do. If i mix stuff in their kibble then they will eat it almost always, I had some Totally Ferret chicken bites that they would ignore on their own but mixed into kibble they loved.
I figured I would start off giving some small pieces of the patties a couple times a week to the kids as treats to get them used to the idea and just as a nutritional snack until I can do the full switch.

LOL! My cat will eat just about anything, ferret food, dog food, he's been on about 4 different cat foods as I change my mind about his diet... He would previously eat raw ground turkey so I wasnt too worried about him... He also will eat his litter (the silica crystals), rather he will pick them up randomly and get them stuck to his lip and shake them off... you'd think he would learn! lol.. he also licks bars of soap I checked the fert bowls this morning and it appears one or two of the NV pieces may have been gobbled up, I will try giving them a bit again later... I need to pick up more tone.

If you'd like to start a thread now for coaching on commercial raw diets, you are more then welcome. Or if you'd rather wait until Jan/Dec that is fine too. Whatever you feel comfortable with, no rush.
