HI, sorry i wasnt here last night to answer your questions had to take one of my nonfurry kids to the er .
I had some that went onto a hunger strick in the middle of transitioning them too. I am with Gilui , if she will eat something give that to her for the moment, and i hate to force feed them too but sometimes you dont have a choice.
Let me know how they are doing today.
Again sorry i wasnt here for you last night.

Ok, just checking in. All of mine are eating the soupie...well...Piper not so much, but she is my problem child. I did really soup down the soupie and got her licking the juices (sorry, it sounds gross!). After that she took a few bites of the more solid soupie bits (again...sorry!). Maybe she will turn around in the next day or so. It would just make my life so much easier if all would move at the same pace. But, that isn't what ferrets do, is it. Ferret logic is: If it's fixed, break it...if it's clean, dirty it.....if it is put away, drag it out.....if I am supposed to do it, ha, ha ha...I won't! Better belive it!

The switch, is stuck at the moment. My husband is apparently giving both Jax and Piper kibble!!! I swear! If it weren't for work, this would be going fine. But no. I have to make a living. We are still mostly in the soupy stage, although I am adding larger chunks of chicken into the mix. Some are actually trying it (who...I don't know. Ask my husband who hasn't been paying attention! ) Grrr....

Hmmm...sounds like you need to talk with hubby and try and get him on the same page as you. Try discussing with him WHY you want the kids on raw, and how giving the kibble as a sneaky snack will only encourage them to hold out and beg for kibble.
Let him know he's welcome to come to the site and post any questions HE may have. I am happy to talk to him directly if it will help him to "jump on board" more.
Try explaining how important this is to you, and maybe he'll take it more seriously. I really dont know what else to say other then, you two have got to be on the same page or its going to be very confusing on your furbabies.
Im sorry. It must be frustrating.

Frustrating...it is! But, my husband knows the importance of making the switch (I have given him the speech and I also said "because Guili said so"). He knows your name by heart, now. The problem is....he feels sad for the ferrets. He thinks they miss the kibble, and slips them some from time to time to make them happy again. Since when did he become the ferret whisperer???

Quick question. I read the post on Sams (Guili's baby), and wondered if I can feed mine raw egg and the shells. Is that ok to feed? Should I be trying it, since mine are not at bone stage yet?

Yes you can try raw egg with the shell Just rinse the eggshell out. Dry it out, and grind it into the finest powder possible. The finer you grind it the more "use" your ferrets will be able to make out of the shell. Just dont feed egg daily. I dont feed more then once a week. The avidin in the egg white can cause biotin deficincies if you feed raw eggs too much (like every day). Biotin is essential for healthy skin and coat.

Im sorry that you are having problems with your husband. I had some too until i sat him down for the umptenth time and it finally clicked with him. I agree with Giuli if he hasnt already get him to come on here and ask some questions or just to read what is being said. I wish you luck I think men can be more stubborn then toddlers and ferrets combined.
I feed mine egg once a week (sometimes they skip a week). i give 3 eggs for 9 ferrets and they always end up looking for more. I mix in a little bit of olive oil with my eggs. it helped get them on the eggs and i just never have stopped. I keep egg shells from eggs that i use for us humans and grind that up too just to have some. this can also be mixed in with soupie.
