This afternoon Zuko started with explosive poo. If anyone has kids that they have nursed that's what it kinda looks like, and just as explosive. I know they can have all kinds of colors and textures but I have never see this. When he backs up to the box it goes every where.
Is this due to him needing more fiber/calcium?
Thanks, Stacy

Possibly. My guys had explosive poop one time, and you are right it was quite literally explosive! It went away on its own, though (it only happened once). I would say that if it doesnt happen to Zuko again (following this most recent episode) I wouldnt really worry. If its a continuing thing then we need to see what's up.

This may sound weird but do you have a pic? Color and texture can make a huge difference in the dianosis.
When fuzzies have wet/diahrea poops we need to make sure they stay hydrated. Fuzzies can dehydrate very fast since thier little bodies are so small.
If it persists more than a day or two please see a vet.

Please remember too that ferrets can and do get influenzas. So if you've had an upset stomach you can pass it on to your furbaby. Keep a close eye on your furchild for dehydration, (use the shoulder pinch test) and hydrate as necessary. You might try some slippery elm or pumpkin in their food to see if that helps solid up their poops. If they're not eating any bone, or egg shell but are eating lots of meat and or offal you will get explosive, smelly poops. As previously mentioned if it continues for a couple of days and you cannot get a handle on it please see your vet as these little guys spend their whole life on the edge of dehydration (just like a cat) and it can become a matter of life or death in a very short period of time. ciao

Sorry for the such late reply. He had it all that day so I made sure he was eating his egg shell. The next day it went away and I forgot about the post SO SORRY!
